FUTURE Home floor wax? Who's tried it and what do you think?

ossco97, what is that, that looks like lights in your plastic that are on the sides of the third brake light? i am new to any av modding.

If you mean the little lights down the sides of the panels, they call that the sail panel light mod.  Click HERE for a LONG thread about doing this mod, including pictures.  Start at the bottom and read up -

well fellas, i have to say that the future wax job doesnt work for me. no matter how many coats, no matter how long or where it dries, it always ends up getting that white dried up look in areas. mostly after getting watter or dew on it. so i am through with using it. i just ordered a few bottles of black again and am going to try that. has anyone tried or know of some one who used ammonia to strip the floor wax off the plastic? i know the few pieces i had to strip down and redo, i used a bunch of diff cleaners and stuff and scrubbed my ass of for a long time. anyone know an easy way to do it? i appreciate your help guys.

There is no easy way to remove it - just lots of elbow grease...I used an Armstrong wax remover/cleaner, LOTS of scrubbing and got it clean.  Just be careful what kind of brush you use as you can scar the plastic.  I'm going to be trying this next:  Alternative to Gatorback

the pics didnt work in that thread. have you seen the pics before they were deleted? did it look ok? so what do you guys think of the black again stuff i mentioned? thanks

well my order for the black again is on back order and i cant decide if i want to cancel it and go with this stuff. how many cans will it take of this stuff to do the truck and bed panels? what do you guys think i should do? thanks

:help: I am about to take the future plunge. How stiff should the brush be for cleaning prep? I am so sick of my faded, white flakey, somewhat chipped looking cladding!! I quit putting dressings or Armorall on months ago. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Use a common nylon brush like you would use on your hardwood floors. Just don't use a metal brush!

Hi,
I have been using Armor All on mine snd it really brings it our nicely.  Actually looks like it did at the dealership 4 years ago. :B:

do you notice a film on the paint after it rains?

No I hadn;t noticed one.  I took caare not get any on the paint and it was fully dried before any rain. :B:

It works but it does not last in comparison to Future wax.

Mine is still looking good. A girl with an 05 yesterday said she thought my 02 look newer than hers. She could not belive it was an 02.  >:D

Honestly guys the Carsystems stuff really makes the Future wax obsolete. Why use a floor product that is very touchy to apply when you can use a reasonably priced product that is for automotive plastic and will not hurt paint and also lasts very long?

Trust me...  If you use Armoral and then it rains...

You will see trails of the stuff dripping down the side of your AV no matter how thin you put it on.

Now if it doesn't rain for a week or so the drips will be less apparent, but there just the same.

Best stuff I have used to date is the CarSystems Refinish Restorer... Hands Down !!!

Armor All, STP Son Of A Gun both don't last long and just runs after the first time it rains...I just tried the Turtle Wax Ice liquid polish, as it is supposed to work on cladding and other plastic and vinyl surfaces.

I'll probably will be ordering the CarSystems Refinish Restorer soon.

Sounds like some good info I will have to try it where to buy the Car Systems Refinish Restorer? :B:

Click this link to buy it from Ditchek & sons.

http://yhst-13811118617756.stores.yahoo.net/carere1l.html?productid=carere1l&channelid=BIZRA

Print the Technical Data Sheet from the link below.
Because the can has very vague & minimal application instructions on it.

Thanks for the link.  (y)

If I switch to this stuff, I will probably need to scrub the Future off 1st, right?
