My other car is a 1967 Tempest & I'm just wondering if any one knows of any good forums like this one, for GM / Pontiac Muscle cars.
Thanks.

The best and biggest one out there is,

www.classicalpontiac.com

Search the archives.

www.classicalpontiac.com is DEFINATELY the BEST Pontiac site on the web. It's my other daily addiction (along with this Avy site).

Glad to meet another Poncho Lover. :)

What Pontiacs does everyone have?

Mine are a 67 Firebirds...

1. Red 400 with 34,000 original miles unrestored.
2. Blue 326 with lots o' miles and restored.
both coupes.

Classical Pontiac is a great site...

Here's a bit more info on mine. Blue 67 Tempest with a 69 428 engine, TH 400 transmission, Craigers. Ive had it for over 10 years.

Very nice! That 428 was a great engine. My 326 car would have one if I could find a nice one for sale...

My wife has a '95 Bonneville.

www.chevelles.com is where I "hung out" before I bought my Av and found this site.

I love my '69 428.

I've got #16 heads, stock '69 intake, 041 cam with Rhoads, 750 cfm Qjet, TH350 with 2800 stall, 3.42 gears with an Auburn Pro posi, jet-hot coated headers running to 2.5" Dynomax Ultraflow duals. Runs great, Sounds great!

Of course, I kept the original 400 in storage, well oilled, just incase the resto-bug ever bites me. For now, it's alot more fun with the 428 than with the 7.6:1 smog-400 that came with the T/A.

Mike

Sounds like a sweet ride...
That's what I like about the 326 block... I could stuff a 428 in there and no one is the wiser. Well as lonng as they don't see the numbers on the heads or block.
Tom

I have a 66 Catalina Convt with the Ventura option and a 70 LeMans Sport. The Cat has a mildly built 389 that is numbers matching and the LeMans has a 350 that I will rebuild this summer. Also here is my Av.

Built the crap out of 428 in my past. They are great blocks to build, lotsa meat. The 16s are in my opinion the best flowing heads Pontiac ever built. RA-Vs don't count since they never made it into regular production. If you ever want to part with that engine, let me know.

When I have the money and can talk my wife into it, I want to complete the collection with a 69 Firebird V8. I think I'll buy this one already done though, I'm tired of expensive projects!

I love your Catalina.

I've always been into the "Darksiders" like Cats and especially Grand Prixs. Very cool car.

i downloaded a catalog from Ames Performance. i found it on the resto page of the Pontiac link provided earlier in the thread. it has 194 pages of good stuff. much more to offer than any other catalog i have seen/ have. thanx for that link Rolm. :B: ;D

You're welcome. There's other places too.

http://www.originalpartsgroup.com/indexnew.asp

http://www.yearone.com/welcomepagecomponents/welcome.html

Good luck, I found Ames to be the cheapest for stock replacement parts. Year offers more parts, while OPG offers different type of mods.

I have a 68 GTO that I have fun with for about 6 years now. I dropped in a 455 block, 462 cu. in. at .030 over, ported 16 heads, 9.5 compression, 249/256@.050 with .554/.558 lift with 1.6 rollers, headers, Torker II manifold, 850 Holley, MSD, full 3" exhaust with 3" x-pipe, 3" race mufflers, 3.90 rear, TH400 with shift kit, and 4050 lbs. with me in it.

I manage to go 12.0@111mph in 58 degrees with 26" M/T slicks.

Classic and muscle cars are fun.

i have those catalogs already. the Ames catalog seemed to be the most complete, and cheapest of the three in my opinion.

For forums on all things Pontiac related - check out:

http://forums.performanceyears.com/6/ubb.x

Performance Years is another great place to get Pontiac resto parts and are the main competitors for Ames Performance.

I have a 66 Bonneville Convertible - about 80 % resored with a 421 cu. in - 4 spd set-up in it. I also have a bright red 99 Trans Am - 6 spd.

There are a lot of Pontiac fanatics within the Av Fan Club. Also check out the Pontiac-Oakland Club International for all things "Pontiac". The link is: http://www.poci.org/
