Hello,

basically I don't look to get a turbo but seems really sharp >:D

I would contact garrett but they are in holidays, how to choose the right model?

making my own kit is my goal.
Choose my intercooler, pipe etc..

I don't like to read this, maybe the truth?

I've done a little research regarding doing a dual turbo setup in my AV, but was able to get KY_Bob's supercharger for a good price before pulling the trigger on that.

From what I have read turbos/turbo engines require more maintenance than a supercharger/supercharged engine but I don't know to what extent and whether that applies mainly to higher boost applications.  I think if the boost level is kept to a reasonable level then it shouldn't be too bad.  I agree with the people who responded in that thread however that it would be questionable for a kid to spend the amount of money it would take to put a turbo on that car to do it.  Also keep in mind when going down this path you are quite likely going to find the weakest parts of the rest of the drivetrain and fixing those are probably not in that kid's budget.  If you aren't scared of having to replace a transmission or a rear end then I'd say don't let that link scare you - just let it warn you of the hazards you may well encounter.

I have a Garret VNT-15 in my Jetta. Works great after 230K miles. I'm thinking of a VNT 17/22 in the next few years.  I typically run 18 PSI.

Since you probably could care less about a 1.9L turbodiesel engine, you should check out this page. Had a great article about boosting a stock 5.3L LM7.
