This is Alan in Pikesville, astew20660@aol.com. A further thought. When we had mod get togethers in CT we were lucky in that we met a a garage that had four lifts and an owner/mechanic who owed an AVA and knew all about it. He would be there all day and early evening (food later in day) to oversee, raise and lower the lifts, and help the job being done. He benefited from exposing himself to forty or fifty AVA owners, from the sale of parts, and the good fellowship that followed the day. You did not have to do a mod, but rather look at what everyone else is doing, select that which you would like to have done and then either do it yourself or (payback) go back to the sponsor garage to have the work done for a fee. We used to run from aboutt ten in the morning to close to midnight. Now if we can only find such a sponsor garage or dealer who wants this type of exposure without telling us he would love to do it but insurance problem. Well, a twenty four hour rider is not an impossible thing to arrange. The key is the mechanic who understands AVA, especially its electrical systems. Thoughts?
