Hey all, I have an 08 with the standard 5.3, I keep trying to get it to squeal the tires because I know it's capable but I just can't get it too. I would like to put a switch in to turn off the rev limiter because even with the traction control off, I seem to get stuck in the snow because it doesn't have enough momentum. Is there a fuse I can pull? Thanks as always.

I have a 93 tune in mine and it has plenty of power to light up the tires, but only on wet ground, they are way too heavy to do it on dry ground, if you try to brake torque it it puts it in limp mode and you can't accelerate. Try putting some water on the road to get it going and hope it doesn't hook and break something, lol

I hope those who like to burn rubber have lots of money to replace their transmission and other drive-line parts when they break. There is a reason why the factory settings prevent over stressing the drive-train. Just look at all the threads about transmission failures.
Will some of you be the next to post in those threads? :devilish:

Can't blame a guy for lettin em squeal sometimes...

Who else will we blame?....GM for not making a truck strong enough for driver abuse....

Our trucks are heavy, that's true, but the real reason that you can't squeal 'em is due to the ECM. It has lots of nannies (i.e. Torque Management) to keep you from abusing the drivetrain. They really should have put the 4L80E into all of their trucks (1/2 ton+).

But, if you are dead set on trying to squeal 'em, press and hold the TCS button for about 10 seconds. It should disable most of the nannies. Even with that, you'll still be hard pressed to get them to squeal from a dead stop in a straight line...

An ECM tune can move your rev limiter to a higher value, as well as address some of that Torque Management that is keeping the man down....
