GM gives Genesee County Habitat for Humanity brand new work truck

FLINT, MI -- General Motors gave a brand-new, Flint-made Chevrolet truck to Habitat for Humanity Thursday, Oct. 20. The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD will help Genesee County Habitat to haul supplies to job sites, where, among other things, they build and restore homes to create affordable housing options for area families, (rest of the story at link above)

I read this online after work last night, they'll probably post a small item about it in the next in-plant news flyer. It's no big deal as GM and/or the UAW do charity stuff all the time with little fanfare. Since I'm filing my retirement papers today and Habitat for Humanity was on my list of things to do when I have time,...

It's only one Chevy truck but with volunteer crews doing the labor imagine how much work it will do locally over it's lifetime. Free truck, free labor, free maintenance on the truck and someone probably donates the gasoline since Habitat is a non-profit.  (y)

That's good of GM to do that, Habitat can sure put it to work.

MS03 2500, I knew you'd appreciate it since you volunteer for Habitat.  (y)

I liked that it was GM Flint Engineering and Tooling Center and Habitat for Humanity that asked for a truck.

I'd have said yes but you know I don't make those decisions, I just build trucks.  :B:

Yes I have been known to pull some trailers loaded with a backhoe or other equipment. Usually their big box trucks are doing other things so if it's going somewhere near I'd drag them.
