GM Nerf Bars, What can I use to get rid of scratches?

Are they chromed or polished Stainless?

Try the mother wheel polishes....they have one for clear coated and one for non coated.....Choose the correct one.....to test...

Use a bit of cleaner wax on under side...if it turns applicator a dark grey/black color then no clear coat and not chrome.....

If rag comes away clean...then they are either clear coated or chrome....

Since mine are showing some minor signs of surface rust, I would assume that they are not stainless.
I'm guessing chrome.

Some of the lesser Stainless steel will rust.....They are not from the 300 series....and not sure what SS they use

but more then likely chromed...as it would be cheaper to manufacture
