GMAC Loyalty "LLC" Gone- New Program Details

Hi All:

Since I'm picking up my new AV in a week, details on the deal are in the process of getting finalized. Because of this, I have received the latest details on the GMAC owners loyalty rebate (Code "LLC") for $750.

Bottom line: It's gone!

However, they have introduced a new program involving leases where you can still get $750 or $500 if you lease and previously leased or financed through GMAC. (The new program codes are "LLA" and "LLE".)

Last month, my dealer told me of the "owner loyalty" rebate based on GMAC finance (it was not specific to lease or loan). ?Yesterday when I picked up the vehicle, I still received the rebate but it was specific to "lease loyalty". ? I happened to have an existing GMAC lease. ?I deffinitely would have been pissed if I found out that I no longer qualilfied. ?BTW, I almost purchased my vehicle a month ago right after it was built (but not delivered) in order to capture the rebate that was "expiring" on 1/31.

It really takes some digging to stay on top of these things. ?They are not advertised and many of the salespeople are not aware of them. ?I went through the fleet sales manager.

GM is really playing a game with their customers on these rebates. ?You can wind up paying or saving thousands of dollars depending upon which day you buy the vehicle and which salesperson you go through.

Great if you can come out ahead, but real fustrating if you come up a day early or late on the next $1000 or so rebate.

In my case, waiting a week resulted in $1,850 difference just enough to pay for a few tanks of gas.

What does the smartbuy contract mean? I purchased a chevy van in october and have a GMAC loan. Can I get the Rebate? My dealer says no.
