Has anyone seen the '04 Envoy

I saw an ad in the local paper today and it said the Envoy has an automatic sliding (read disappearing) rear roof section. Also mentioned a mid gate for expanding the rear room.

What's up with this? Is it GMC's version of the AV?

Geez, the MSRP for a fully decked out SLT version is under 39K - Sounds like a dealer to avoid!

i saw one when i did the chevy test drive at giant's stadium not long ago.. they were also doing a gm training session there and had a bunch of colorados and an ssr sitting around as well, but all locked up.. i happened to ask the right person on the training course (she was the info person on gmc's suv line!) and she hooked me up.. it's a fully enclosed suv, but the whole back half of the roof slides forward to open it up to a bed.. there is a midgate after the back seats (complete with a power midgate window) that enclosed the passenger area when the roof is open.. also it has the two way cargo door, it can opened to the side or down like a regular tailgate.. and supposedly fit a full size piece of plywood in the back with the tailgate down..

it was pretty impressive.. might make my next vehicle purchase a little more difficult.. good thing i plan on keeping the av for the next 8-9 years..

Now that is a feature I would love to see added to the AV given it's high tailgate height.
