Going on a road trip

(y)  Didit sent me a message and I've been checking the maps. It's almost time, we're looking forward to it.
 
I thought that I would put in the thread just in case we get any "surprise" guests.   (y)
 
Not sure if we're going to make it or not yet. Twiggy is working Fri and even if we left right after she got home it would be late getting to a hotel. There and back on Sat would be a killer. It's 5 hours each way without construction. Sunday we have a big commitment that we can't be late or tired out for.

Do you want to meet at Skillmans, or there at the Baymont exit 103 65 S, the Northwest corner of the interchange, its a 3 hour (+-) from Chicago, so depending on what time you have breakfast with Desire and wifey...................

We can meet at Skillmans around 2pm. Should be able to make that without any problems.
 
I did not realize untill today when I heard it on the radio, sniff gulp blah, that this weekend is Oktoberfest at the German American Klub, which means its an extra 5 bucks to get on the property, and you have to park in the out lot versus driving up to the restaurant, sooooo does not matter to me as we have been to the Oktoberfest more than a few times ourselves, I just did not realize it was this weekend!    Wanna change eateries or what?

Well if you've been there a few times it must be good.  :cool:  We're OK with it,  but if you think it may be easier to get in somewhere else that's OK too.
 
It does require a little walking but not to bad!  Smaller than a state park bigger than a shopping mall, lol

If I remember correctly I have seen rascals down there in case Jo is feeling up to it. 
BTW  the dark lager , mmmm  but its a taste choice, lol.

After a day and a half of driving the walk would do us good!
 
Don't change any plans on count of us. Between my terrible allergies this year and Joan's fractured ribs I am not sure how much of the GTG we will attend. We do plan on being at Ray Skillman's at 2PM and we will just see how it goes from there. I think that I will bring her go-jigger as she calls it for the car showroom.......
 
Look forward to putting a face to the name. See you Saturday.

So far so good! Met with Z66 Butch, Jomama, Didit and Lu at Ray Skillmans. It was great meeting up with guys and that is an awesome place. Just finished dinner and listened to some germany music with Didit and Lu. (I thought Lu was going to get up and dance). Now it's time to sit back and relax.  :yourock:

We just got home had a great time visiting and touring Ray Skillman's Classic Cars. We stayed at the hospital with my sister,neice and brother-in-law until he fell asleep. We then went to a little dive that had the best food, Manns Grill. My sister says they stop by there a lot on the way home. It is a real dive but good prices, lots of food.

  mann's grill is the best. they have the bestest(I know no such word) biscuits & gravy on the westside. yur sister wasn't lying was she, butch?
 
Yes it was very good! Did you know about the pie closeout on Saturday night? If they have pies left they sell them out for $6 each, cheesecakes are
$5. I have 3 in the freezer now! I figured that the biscuits & gravy were great because i saw several orders going out at 8:30 on a Saturday night! My sisiter says that her and her daughter split a meal and they are only $6 + change, when i saw how much you got for that price i was shocked!
