I am going to go look at newer rig to pull my bass boat with. IT is a 02 avalanche 4x4 with the 5.3 and 3.73 gears. It has 42000 miles on it. For starting price at 19,900. It this giong to be a good towe vehicle for my bass boat? Is there some things that I should be aware of for this year of Avalanche. I currenty have a 2000 dodge ram 4x4 with the 5.9. It get about 8 miles to the galon pulling my boat. Help me out guys I really want to join your club. you can call me email me or post it here. But I need to know.

Price seems high to me for 2002

Avy does very well towing and with bass boat you should get 12-13mpg heck maybe better depending on local terrain...

PS you joined the club and welcome!

what should I get the price down too? What bout the trany how will it hold up to pulling a bass boat?

I don't know where you are located, but this seem like a much better deal to me.?

check KBB.com NADA.com and edmunds for pricing
as well as local classifieds and maybe ebay..

for tranny add external cooler
and new instrument cluster with tranny temp gage

can the dealership put those things in for me
?
sure but you will pay way more then doing yourself...

the cluster is simple... remove dash trim by pulling it off..
then few screws hold cluster in...

then pull it out and insert new and put back together...

simple and you bond with AVY..

tranny cooler requires bit more skill and can be messy..

check towing section for info on tranny coolers...

check MOD interior section for threads about different clusters...

Good luck

i will try and find those topics. I do like the avy that I am looking at and 42000 miles is pretty low.

I dont think you will have any problems with a little bass boat.

It would almost be worth the plane ticket and trip back (good bonding time with the Av).? With all the mods that have already been done and the care that I'm sure this one has received.JMO

GL  and welcome!

so you dont think I will have any problems pulling about 3000lbs? And the trany? what about the gas mileage with this amount of weight? where I live it is pretty flat a few hill now and then.  What price should i try a get them do to for this 2002 4x4 with 42000 miles on it? You guys sure are a big help. I hope I can join the club

you should be ok with that amount of weight, I'd add a trans cooler for peace of mind

gas milage~ assuming mostly highway, I'd guess 14-16 towing

price~ I'd shoot for around 16,500
