I had a rock or something hit my front windshield last week that left a dime sized crack. I got it fixed today with pretty good results. Attached is a before and after picture. I can not even find the crack from the outside and it is bearly noticable from the inside after the fix. They came out to my house and it took less than 30 minutes. Best of all, it was free to me because my insurance pays the deductible and the structural integrity of my windshield has been restored.

The repair looks pretty good. I had my AV for 2 weeks when a rock decided that my windshield needed to be replaced. The windshield squeaked like crazy the day of the repair but has since quieted down. I still get an occasionaly creaking which may be the urethane rubbing against a piece of moulding. I would have preferred the repair but the crack was a foot long and the windshield had to be replaced. Yes, my insurance covered it 100%. Everyone should get full glass coverage - you WILL eventually use it and it costs very little.

I've already lost a windshield to a rock. Funny how no truck beds here in California are covered :8:
Make certain that the installer adds extra sealant to the windshield molding. If not, you have the whistling noise. Some installers know about the problem which afflicts Avalanche's and Suburban's, most however do not.

Surprised they repaired the windshield, because, in Fl, the law says the insurance companies have to replace such damage. No cost , no effect on insurance rates. After photo looks good.
