When my big, beautiful indigo blue Av was delivered it was covered in swirl marks.   I was torn on rejecting the delivery but I wanted it so bad and if I turned it down, I would have had to wait almost a week as I got mine on December 23rd. Also, because it was a dealer swap I didn't know who the offending dealership was - however it looked like it had been dried with a Brillo pad.

Well I've had it for two months and all this week in Western Washington it has been sunny. Today the temperature broke 50 degrees and while my little girl was asleep (I'm home on a leave of absence) I got to take the swirls out of the paint! The first pass (that's all I had time for got about 98% of what was there. The tailgate seems really bad and there is a bit on the rear quarters. The rest is perfect.

I also found a big rock chip in the process on the driver's side A pillar (UGH). Right to the primer slightly bigger than a pin head. Found a small mark on the hood that must have happened pre-bug shield - that one is buffable. The worst was the deep scratch I found on the tailgate

My guess is some creep rested their poles and/or skis on my tailgate at Stevens Pass and it slid down. It's going to take a lot of work and care to keep that one hidden.

Still it looks 1000% percent better than at delivery - now I need to do a second pass tomorrow and get it sealed before Friday. Going to try and find some Xymol.

Zymol is all hype for the price IMO.

For blue why not try the polymer KLASSE. Use the All In One then follow with 2-3 layers of the Selant Glaze it will last for about 6 months.

Ps did you clay prior to removing the swirls????

If not contaminates may show up as very small specs about the size of this . they will look either dark black or a rust color. Do the baggie test to ensure smooth paint.

Glad to hear you cleaned up the swirls but you must wash the truck afterwards to make sure the filler oils did not give you a temporary fix.

Good Luck!
