Everyone,

We took our trip to San Antonio last week. Phenomenal time. We went camping the first five days at McKinney Falls (south of Austin). We hiked around the falls and my son (9 month old Zack) got to play in the falls. We went to Sea World on Monday, River Walk and Cowboy's Training Camp Tuesday, Schlitterbaun Wednesday. On Thursday we check into the Randolph VOQ and I wend and played golf at the Randolph course. Friday I played golf at Cedar Creek. Saturday, my best friend got married and we came back yesterday.

The AV did not disappoint and I took a lot of pictures. I will post them when I get them developed. It is true about people moving out of the way when you pull up behind them on the highway.

My son clapped for the first time and we were recording him clapping one time when crawled across the bed to get to the camera. It was his first time to crawl for real, no army crawling, and we caught it on tape.

I was amazed at how much stuff I could fit into my AV. Golf clubs, tent, lanterns, fishing gear, two strollers, four pieces of luggage, lawn chairs, a food tub, and some other misc item---all that in the back. Not to mention what was in the tool boxes and the back seat with Zack.

My wife took the AV to get gas on base and a guy came up and asked her if you could carry a lot in the truck. We hadn't moved anything into the room yet, so she showed him everything that we had packed. He was so impressed that he said it made him decide to buy an AV. Another fan. I got compliments from all my college budding, especially when the jumped into to go out the night before the wedding.

Having an AV is awesome.

Later,

Jim

Jim ... I am glad you had a great trip.

I wish you would have contacted us. We would have loved to have you at the Ranch to meet all of the local members.

Maybe next time.

The invitation is always open to anyone who visits San Antonio. Give us an e-mail or phone call. We will keep the lights on for you ;)

Goo,

Funny thing is that I had thought about that on my way down there. However, I didn't have a way to look y'all up. Maybe next time. I did see a couple of AVs down there, but I don't think any of them were members. I still haven't recieved my sticker in the mail. I bought it before my trip, hopefully it will come in soon.

Thanks again,

Jim

Jim.

They could have been members. We are getting close to 30. I just need to get them all together at once.

Either FOXNEWS or the local Hooters would have told you how to contact me ;D

We ate at the Hooters in the River Walk mall, I didn't think to ask them.

When were heading back to the campsite that night we got stuck at a light next to the Hooters Humvee, have you seen that thing?

I have driven USAF Humvees and that one looked very different.

lsuflyingtiger-Glad you had a great time down here. Even though I live only five minutes from Randolph I hardly ever get over there, but you still may have seen me around (SOM Z-66). (I just got my CAFCNA sticker and don't have it on the AV yet.)

Anyway, ditto what Goo said, call us or let us know when you will be in town and we will try to get together.

Glad you made it home safely! :)

I was at Hooters Riverwalk on Tuesday visiting Angela.

Is this the what you are talking about?

Sounds like it was a great trip! There were several firsts on that trip you will always remember. It won't be long before he is grabbing for the keys to drive the AV. :B:

He is already taking the keys. You should see the way his face lights up when I let him stand on my lap to "drive" while the car is parked in the driveway. He luvs the AV.
