Group Buy For Magnaflow Muffler

I have found a dealer who will give the club a group buy on the 14589 Magnaflow Muffler. ?His regular price is $121.67 plus $10.00 shipping. ?The group price will be lower than this. ?While he is working up a price for us you can email Doug at info@performanceintl.com for more info. ?We need 10 orders to get the special price.

This muffler is the Polished Stainless Steel Muffler with 1-3" input and 1-3" exit. ?This is the one for our 1500 AV's.

I just ordered that muffler yesterday from Performance Intl, so you should be able to count that as two.

In fact I sent a private message to Chief, recommending that he try to set up a group buy.

So we are all on the same track.

I looked at those pics and can't figure out how the Y pipe was taken care of. It looks like a different pipe was put up there. Anybody know if a new pipe is bent or is the Y part cut off?

Sure!! My muffler guy had no problems at all. He cut the Y out of the pipe and fabricated a new section of 3" pipe that spliced the muffler to the existing tailpipe. He then cut off the very end of the tailpipe and welded a new stainless steel tip on.

Hey Wiki...
The "Y" section that goes back to one is still on the stock muffler in my garage. It was cut off right after the "Y" went back to one. My exhaust guy then fabricated a new section to run back and join up with the rest of the stock tailpipe before adding the SS tip

Thats what I thought. One of the locals here said he would cut off on section of Y and cap the hole. Needless to say, I ran from his shop.

I will call and see where we are on this. I will also find out the cut off date. I think he said he would give it 10 days or so.

Right now I think we are at 2. Next week doug will let us know how to place the orders, Time limit on this deal, and the special on the 12" SS tips by Magnaflow.

Sure just email him. He said the min on the tips will be 9 orders. The min on the Magnaflow I think was 10, but if I remember corectly he may have said 9 on the Muffler too. You can call Doug too at 1-800-522-1672!

It seems like I am the only one putting anything on this thread but for those who have ordered, Im sure you keep up. So far Doug has received 4 emails. We need 6 more to get the group rate. Doug will be comming in to the forum later on in the week to keep us up to date on the time frame of this Magnaflow muffler GP and on the Magnaflow SS tips #35110.

Ok, the magnaflow is quite as a kitten if you are very light on the foot...or as loud as a tiger if you floor it...and all the sounds in between just depending on where you place your foot. Can drive it at any speed without resonance...or you can find that sweet spot with your foot and have it resonate during accelerate. Did I mention I

I'm in for a muffler ... I will call Mr. Doug in the morning... Except I was considering the Aluminized Version (Part #12589)... I will not be getting the tip... My good friend Chris Hines here at Pro Dyno will be doing the work, and I like his tips...

BTW... I see alot of you have installed the muffler using the stock pipe... I measured the O.D. of the tail pipe which seems to be mandrel bent, and it was 3" ... Does anyone know what the "mid" pipe size is? I am refering to the piece of pipe between the collector and the stock muffler... If it is also 3" I will be ok, but if it's not, I will replace it also... I have the 1500

I did the Magnaflow thing a couple of weeks ago. The guy at Interstate Muffler in Stanton, VA simply used an electric hacksaw to saw the "in" pipe in front of the muffler. Then he removed the stock muffler with the two out tail pipe still atached to it. He installed the Magnaflow and simply made a new "one" out tailpipe exiting in the same location as the former tailpipe. Next he welded an 18 inch slash cut stainless tip that says "Magnaflow Performance Exhust" on the top of it. The 18 incher goes almost out of sight. I think we came out another inch or so further than the stock pipe. It looks great and sounds terrific. Also nice to have the old 4000 Mi. muffler and stock pipe in the barn if it ever needs to go back on.
Keep on trucking! Wish UPS would come up the driveway with my 24 piece rosewood dash kit!!!!

Just bringing this back up to the top for someone to see. If you want a Polished Stainless Steel muffler, this is the one to get. It won't run you out of the cab with resonance. Check out this thread for more info on the muffler Pics of Magnaflow Install It is an iformative thread. Then if you want it refer back to the first entry in this post.
