Oveido is working on bringing Stainless Steel AVY letters for sale as well.

This will be a MOD GTG. If you are interested in installing cupholders, LEDS, or anything else. BYOG (bring your own gear). I'll have some misc tools at my disposal.

Dealership to provide tents, ballons, and signs by the road.

Food will be served at the event. I have worked out for a food vender to be present serving drinks, hot dogs, etc. If you do not want to buy any food, please feel free to bring all the food you want. Coolers are welcome and adviseable.

I also have about 6 combo meal deals from Taco Bell which will be given out at the time of the event. These are only going to be given out to 6 people.

Hitch Central will be there with some bolt on goodies for sale at a discounted price (bolt on grills, bug shields, vent visors, hitch covers, etc)

Rod's Muffler shop has agreed to install 2 exhaust systems at a discounted rate as well on Saturday (has to be installed at his shop - about 5 miles from GTG - this has to be installed early in the AM - please let me know so I can schedule this for those 2 lucky members)
Price worked out to be $375 for a Flowmaster with all new pipes. You chose tips - single / duels. Stainless Steel tips will be $50 more.

Absolutely. Kathy Priest was my teacher in High School.

One other thing I was thinking about and didn't post in the original is this. This town is small enough to where everything is within close distance to go in case of needed supplies and such. Home Depot is 1 mile, and the mall is 4 miles. Everything would be close which would make supply runs alot easier.

Dealer also told me they will help promote it. Fliers and advertising and such.

One other thing ****TENTS***** we will have ****TENTS****. I can talk with a local muffler shop (does the best work) and see if he can plan to have the day open to install custom Flowmasters. I grew up with his brother and him. Pretty cool guys.

I'm friends with Jeff and Ellen Priest. I don't know if you know them or not. They had a son named Jeffery who was 17 or so and they they lost him in a car wreck last year.

If this thing moves to Crystal River, I'd be a definite for the Flowmaster mod. (y) (y) (y)

I'd be down for making the drive over. Sounds like it could be a great event, and I'm not shy to say that Classic Chevrolet in Altamonte is not my favorite group of people.

My only concern is the obvious...several of the people planning to come to the Orlando mod GTG are coming from out of town. Here are the approx. distances to Crystal River:

Orlando: 90 miles
Melbourne: 160 miles
Ft. Lauderdale: 290 miles
Daytona: 115 miles
Jax: 135 miles

I'm down for it, sounds like a great place to have a meet, you are right it may be our "turn" to come over that way, but I'd be interested in seeing what some of the others have to say about it, and see how many may say no because of the switch.

Rich

PS - I'd be interested in pipes and tips behind my already installed FM50 ;D

This sounds awesome. The problem for me is I never know where I'm going to be one week to the next. But if I'm in town I would be there.

Who's gonna whine about a few more miles in a truck that is fun to drive? Heck, Saturday's GTG is 198.2 miles from my house!

Joe

Now how am I going to come to Crystal River without lookin' for some redfish?

Joe, you going to combo this with a fishing outing on your new flats boat? :0: ;)

:0: :0: :0: Now there's an idea!!!

I don't know the flats up that far but I know a guy that does. Hmmmmmm?

Joe

Drive is well worth it in my opinion.

If I am able to make the GTG in St. Augustine, that would be 130 miles for me.

I also was thinking about a drive down to the local beach. A nice 9 miles drive down a winding road.

The beach isn't anything like Daytona or the East Coast Beaches, but hell, where can you see a Nuke Power Plant where you swim :cautious:

Hmmm... Thats a long drive and I don't like the idea of spending more money on gas and having to get a hotel room, that makes for a pricey little GTG... I will have to think about it some more...

I also remembered that there is a boat supply here that has a bunch of cup holders........ >:D

HEHEHEHEHEH

Who said anything about a hotel room. If that is what you guys are thinking, the I can try to get a good rate as well. The hotels here are will to hook us up. ;D

Well, thats a long drive to make back to Daytona after working on trucks all day. I would want to stay over and head back well rested, no need to risk falling asleep at the wheel and running my baby into a tree... We'll see, I will keep thinking about it... For the moment I vote for Classic, like them or not, it is basicly the md-way point for eveyone...

stop yer cryin' and just do this...

duh

;D

Everyone let me know what you think of this. I am more than willing to do whatever the majority wants. If they want to move it, fine, if they want to make one a couple of weeks after (so there will be 2) fine. It sounds like, from talking with Coon, that this dealership would love to have us, and will go all out for us. I like the idea of a tent or 2 to stay out of the sun this time of year. I don't mind the drive, as I love that area of the state. My only concern with changing the location is, that at least a few new members have said they will attend, and I don't want to discourage them from not by moving it. So maybe if they could post, it would help. (y)

This is what I'm planning...Besides, like Joe said miles make no difference when your Stylin and Profilin in an AV.

Doon, count me in Bro, I'm in!!!

Hey Rich,

Maybe I'll bring my Sea Doo Speedster (Boat, not a jetski) and we can make a Red Fish trip into this as well.

Hangman

Whatever we do, I'm in for either place.

Purely selfish on my part, but, I'd rather take the nicer back country drive from Clearwater up to Crystal River than I-4 through Orlando.

Sounds like this dealership would be more than accomodating to us.

I'm up for it,

Doesn't matter, Helloooo :-X :7: Myrtle is gonna rack miles anyway!

Let's do it ! !
Dune can make a production and we all have a good time no matter what ! ! !

It's a freaking 3hour deal for me -- - - -- -- WAAAAAAAHHHH!
Done worse on less time and less sleep... >:D >:D I have to work at 03:dark thirty but I'm up for it... Just can't indulge tailgate slushies :C: :C:

Dune / OV figure it out and yell.

ok,as of now I am leaning towards moving this to Crystal River....might not get as many brand new guys, but it definetely sounds like a better set up. Besides, if it does not work out, we can all give Dune Coon some baldheaded nugies >:D

Does anybody on this forum have any hair? Yak, myself and now this one too?

Hmmmmm, :0: Bald Avalanche Nation?

Joe

I have a hair! >:D

Umm, if you really want to move it go ahead and move it. I can not promise I will be able to go because I am planning to come back from my trip to Phoenix with a job of some kind and moving within 2-3 weeks of getting back... So, we might have to plan a fast going away GTG for me if all goes as I hope it will!!! ;D

Please make your choice though because I will not try to find anymore LED's since I won't be here to install them... Sorry :-[

Well if this happens, you can count me out...and you can almost guarantee that I'll attempt to get something going with Gordon Chevy here in Orange Park.

The Florida State Co-ordinator, PlanetAV, works there. (at least he did the last time he touched base with anyone on here)
