Betcha didn't think someone with an 02 would ever say that ;D
After building my third Sub Creation box, I have encountered an interesting phenomenon ?

It has been quite cold this season, so most of my cruising has been with the windows up, but the other day we had our first 80 deg day
You know what that means>>> 4 windows down and sunroof wide open

With the vehicle open, the 10" sub seems to put out alot more than when it was closed up [ I believe the AV is to air tite]

Now let me explain, that I am not a young kid anymore but I am ?HIGH in fidelity and enjoy heavy Bass, but this was kick ass bass to the point that people on the sidewalks and at stores were looking, and had to pull over and turn the gains down on the Amp>>>

My point is>>>>>
If you like good sounds, and deep base [and I'm not talking about 2 / 12's running 1000w type sound]
Most would be impressed with this box
Sorry 03's, this fits 02 only>> you lose >:D

under D-R seat/remvble/10 Inf/ .66+/140w rms
box specs have been published many times in these threads

This is what I am looking for. I have been away for awhile and missed the dimensions. Could you post the link to the dimensions and I might just give this one a shot. I have been wanting to add a sub, but have been occupied with my 1970 vette this spring.

Yes, please hook us up with a link so that we can get the dimnensions. Before the power's that be lock this thread up quicker than you can say Stalin was here.

Why would the powers that be lock this thread. I have no intentions of locking this thread! >:D However, in the near future I will try to combine all of the subwoofer threads into one, long, informative one. I hope that will help others search for info on subwoofers. Dang there are alot of threads about subwoofers!! >:D

PS I am not related to Stalin! >:D

This is only one of many I posted

First I must state that ?even with no box, and only the Amp mounted on the floor in the center, the seat will not fold down all the way!!!!!!!!!
So lets throw, total midgate fucntionally out the window--

I made all the boxes, quickly removable, because I frequently use my mid gate

the first box was [yes you are correct--trapaziodal]
24"L
5"H-F--- 4"H - R
13.5 W/F-- 14.75"W/R
ended up at .55 CF @ 5/8
its only real limitataion was driver Height ?4.675"
I first used the POlk GNX10-- fit nicely
pretty impressive for hard rock--lacking with rap-techno

The second box I increased the height by 6" F-5"R
This required the seats to be raised 1/2"and underside seat panel ?trimmed and the carpet pad to be removed-fron under the carpet
-----However
Got the driver height to 5.675---CF's to .66ish @3/4"
Both boxes have a top plate

The third box I used, 3/4" OAK laminiate, tough to work with, but gives it a more powerfull / boomy sound

I then went with infinity 10" reference ----WOW
---much better lower end ?
I think this setup would satisfy most ?people and I am running only 140W rms
and would fit other driver that handle higher power
Both of these boxes can be listened to with the seat up or down--- and the seat will fold down to about a 45 deg angle which still allows some use of the midgate

Wiki, if you do lump this in a specific thread, let me know, and I will post detailed instructions

It's just fun to get you guys cranked up sometimes...I know you guys are always watchin'. It's like a nun at a catholic girls school with the ruler. (not that you a nun, either) Nothing meant by it...my computer won't let me put faces in tonight (so pretend you see a winking face here).

Back to the thread:

Mr. Cape,
If you used an 8" (like a kicker solobaric) would it have fit w/o all the seat and carpet mod? Thanks for the info also.

Slash
the first box size would work/without mods
5'H=F 4"H-R// made of 5/8
with just the box,and a top plate
driver hight was around 4.5/8"

That was one of the drivers I looked at
I couldn't justify the price $275 for an experiment

I am no stereo guru but am going to build a box like yours. My question is if I were to use Lexan for the bottom plate, that would take some height out of the box without sacrificing air space..might not have to pull up padding or alter bottom of seat..Any thoughts????
