You're thinking "What?" Well, after Bowtie painted my engine cover, he gave me what was left of the can. Well, I have put the can to good use, Bowtie! I have painted my airbox cover and my bowtie with the same paint. Why paint my beloved black bowtie hammered-steel? Well, I ordered a roll of gloss black vinyll on Atgr's recommendations. My plan is to apply the vinyl to the chrome bar across our grill. Naturally, with the bar being black, the bowtie can't also be black or you'd never see it. Looks good so far... next will be painting the electrical distribution center cover. One thing of note: the texture isn't perfectly noticeable as the clear-coat somewhat diminishes the texture effect AND the sunlight is also washing it out to a degree.

Hey Jaime,

Isn't that Rust-Oleum Hammered some of the COOLEST paint in a spray can (y)

We were doing some interior remodeling here at the house and we used that paint on some items like the light switch covers & switches, outlet covers & outlets, doorbell cover and some other small accessory stuff. Man that stuff looks great and goes well with the new light fixtures we put up.

I like your applications on your Avy  I might have to give that a try also!

Looks good Jamie.
I picked up some black Avery vinyl two weeks ago, but have yet to put it on :6:

I'm not doing the whole crossbar though, just the sections at the ends below the headlights. That way all black on the sides, matching my blackouts, and then all shiny/billet in the middle to match the grille & bowtie. ;D

Cool. You'll have to post the required pics upon completion. I am hoping to get the stuff pretty soon

What is troubling me is how the vinyl will go around the ends. I can certainly cover the front face of the crossbar and then wrap around the top/bottom. But how will I go around the ends and their top and bottom. Worried about how those seams will be.

Any input helpful here. Sparky, you recall how your ends were wrapped?

How much does a can of that paint run. I could get real creative with something like that.
