Went today and had the tires rotated and front end alinged for the frist time.....(on a side note i payed for the 5 years of free alignments at Tire Kingdom...I hope its worth it in the long run) but the results are awesome....the toe was out by .2 degrees or so.....the front tires were starting to feather on the outside edges and it always seem a bit light in the front end to me.......now it drives much tighter and precise....feels 100% better than it did brand new doesnt seem to drift and wander nearly as much as it did before. I hope this feeling lasts many more miles to come

How many miles did you have on your AV? I have 11,000 miles on my 2003 and wonder when I should have the alignment checked!

Thanks,

I just found out at 24000 miles that the factory setting was way out
camber was causing heavy feathering to the insides of the fronts
check your alignment ASAP dealer will not fix after 7500 under warenty I wish I would have found or realized it sooner out 64 bucks

Just got my Avalanche. It has 26,000 miles. I noticed a slight pull to the left. The tires had been rotated. The back were showing feathering on the inside of the tire. Had the alignment checked. The left front was toed out .2. :B:

My dealer told me that the GM warranty wouldn?t cover any alignment work on my new AV until it hit 3,500 miles. So I took it to an alignment shop, where they found that the left front toe was 0.14, while the right front tow was -0.37. :6:

The dealer said that all they can do is forward my alignment reports to GM, to see if their willing to reimburse me $53.20.

BTW, I?ve noticed a big difference in the way it now steers, especially at 60+ mph.

I got my new tires last week and got an alignment and the truck tracks 1000% better than it did I am so happy. I wish I would have gotten it done long ago.

I am planning to take mine in next week. I have 2000mi right now and it pulls to the left and the steering wheel is not stright while driving. This is my third new GM truck and all of them needed a front end alingment. The dealer told me to bring it in before 7500mi or I will have to pay myself.

Good luck all :B:

My dealer said he couldn?t do alignment work, under warranty, until I hit 3,500+ miles but your dealer is telling you to bring yours in at 2,000 miles? Now you?ve got me wondering if my dealer was feeding me a line.

I complained about it drifting before I ever got 1000 miles on mine. THey checked the alignment and fount it was off and they realighned it. It was much better. THe dealer did this! Never heard of waiting untill you have 3500 miles to check anything, if its off its off!
