I haven't seen one in person but was called by my dealer back in 2016 saying a new AV was coming out then.....(He didn't know much about it since they didn't have one on the lot.) It has been discussed on this website since 2016 with many photos and info on the High Desert Silverado, it is not an AV though since it doesn't have a midgate and also built on Silverado platform not Suburban like the AV.....
One thread about it here:

Only way I would buy it if it had the Mid-gate

Ride and looks for my current Avy were a selling point to.  But the mid gate was my 100% reason to buy it.  I like being able to take out all the panels and haul things with my tail gate up no other half ton can

And sometimes in the summer, take the window out, the panels, etc and put the tail gate down, almost feels like a convertible :)

Totally agreed! The midgate is a huge plus for me. I intend to take the truck camping with the tent-in-bed this summer.

That Silverado had me do a double take, because I'd never seen a bed cover with the sail panels before.

I wanted that bed insert for my '16 Silvy I had. Miss those covers and saddlebags. Almost had the dealer get one for me but as mine was a lease, I didn't want to end up dealing with it if it didn't fit my next truck in which it wouldn't have.

would be nice to see if a coach company could build a midgate into it seems that they can make anything else someone could do that

Anything can be done if you are willing to throw enough money into it.....problem is it would probably cost as much as the truck to get it done  and you could never sell it for what you paid to get it done. You would have to put the midgate into the insert front side then cut through bed front wall and back wall of cab too. Imagine trying to water seal all of these areas and keep the cab and bed strong as well. It may be easier to cut the roof off of a new Suburban but even then the AV has steel skeleton under plastic sail panels to keep the rigidity necessary to prevent rear and roof from buckling hence the reason for sail panels in the first place.

do not believe it....

not until GM says it.

Written by someone that barely has idea what the avalanche is/ was.

Keeps babbling about how it's totally different" but fails to mention any feature instead focusing on styling. Which is "completely different" only if you've never seen a second gend avalanche.

And for a "rendering" it sure looks like a hasty photoshop job. Just look at the awful cropping around the tires and sail panel. I wont hold my breath.

Not to mention the sail panels look like they won't offer support as originally designed and with no windows in them they would be bad blind spots.....

No mention of a mid-gate. That would be my 1st question. No steps?
The first line- "...according to the latest media reports". I couldn't find any.
Profile looks too much like a Honda
$30-40 k ? haha yeah fake news.

In other words - Click Bait. I'm not clicking to add to their revenue stream.

I would guess a Photoshop job by someone looking for a two door model concept or some junkyard Frankenstein home made version by cutting Av in middle and installing on a shorter Tahoe frame and drive-train. How would the mid-gate work on that truck? Fold into bed or no lowering mid-gate since if you did it would end up in the front seats!
Just my .02 again but just wishful thinking on someone's part.
