I bought a used 03 and after a week it was replaced under warranty. I could load 3 or 4 disc and then it would lock up.
Has anyone had this problem? Is it common ? I hope not
Thanks and I'm new here ???

the weirdest thing i have experienced so far was when the radio played static intermitently through the speakers. kinda like it was radio station static. only i was listening to a cd. once the truck warmed up it was fine. it was about 10 degrees outside when it happened. i was wondering if the weather had something to do with it. ???

Thanks guys.
I hope it was a fluke thing. When I told this to the dealer he didn't ?? it he just replaced it like it was a problem with lots of them.

By the way when the volume is all the way down and cd is playing can you hear it spinning and making noise??

My problem is when it gets warm. If during the winter I have the heat on for a while the cd's will first start to skip, then they stop playing all together. In the summer if it gets hot inside the same thing happens. If you leave it for several hours, it starts to work again. I have taken it to the dealer but (as usual) they can not find the problem.

I have had my '03 just about a year now and haven't had any problems with the 6 disc changer.

How is the replacement working now?

The replacement seems to be ok except I can hear the the cd's making noise when the volume is down is this normal??? ??? ???

Yes, mine just quit. It says "IINITIALIZING" now and then, but does not do anything. The CD icon in the upper left corner blinks. The dealer said to bring it in, and they will probably replace under warranty (22,000 miles, 2003)

Cleaning, dust, who knows! But they're likely dirty inside.

I never used mine except to check op when it was new. Now it's just safely wrapped up in storage.
