Can it hurt my av to drive in haul mode all the time, and what about reving the engine in neutral? Thanks for any help or + karma you can throw my way! David :B:

Yea I would like to know exactly what tow haul mode engages. Doesn't it activate another water pump or something, and doesn't it make you a little quicker when you push it? Can you turn it off and on on the fly?

When you press the tow haul mode it is engages an electronic program in the computer. When you activate it it optomises the transmission and engine to provide you with more low end torque and more engine braking. If you want to see an example do a 0-60 test. O-60 with full 100% throttle with tow haul on for me is 9.45 with it off I get 10.13. It will also stretch out the shift points keeping the engine in lower gears for a longer period than usual to make sure you have power when you need it.
Why it isn't set like this full time... It is not "AS" Fuel efficient it is harder on the engine and transmission the truck is not optomised to perform like this full time on the 1500. Can you do it... Yes. Will it damage the engine and drivetrain...Yes. But so will everyday driving this will just accelerate the process slightly. If you do a lot of stop and go traffic driving it may be a good idea to turn tow haul mode ON. Because it will keep the truck running cooler it won't be doing a lot of crazy shifting, and you'll have power when you need to do a quick maneuver. If you do a lot of highway driving LEAVE IT OFF. You want your fuel efficiency and it will just make it work harder stretching out the shift points for nothing.
Good Luck David

As answered above the Tow/Haul extends the shift points and reduces the transmissions tendency to hunt between gears.  It does not "hurt" the engine/trans, just causes more wear and lower gas mileage.

Revving in neutral? How high, 2000 rpm- no biggie. 5000 rpm- not good.

:love:dont haul grass in your av in mexico,,,,and as  the revving thing dont worry about it,,your truck has an automatic shut down device that reads the rpms,,it goes into automatic mode before it triples out the performance  all the is found in your book  page 631  paragraph 6,or you can take a block of wood and size it to the underside of your acclerator and that way you wont over rev. you motor,,,and i hope my buddy in miami is enjoying vanilla,,your man in the field abuelito
