THE HEATED SEATS IN MY AVALANCHE TAKE TEN MINUTES
TO WARM UP WHERE IN MY IMPALA THE SEATS TAKE THREE MINUTES. ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT SHOULD TAKE FOR THE AVALANCHE SEATS TO HEATUP

Mine heat up in under 3 minutes...sounds like you need to get them checked.

Fromcold to hot in a about a 2 mins!!!! Maybe you are wearing to many clothes??? LOL

HEATED SEATS, TALKED TO DEALER,THEY SAY THAT IT IS A THICKER SEAT THEREFORE IT TAKES LONGER TO HEAT.
I TALKED TO GM ,THEY SAY THEY ARE CHECKING ON IT.
DEALER SAYS THEY WILL CHECK ANOTHER SEAT WHEN THEY GET ANOTHER AVALANCHE IN STOCK.(no reply)
THE DEALER SAY THEY MAY TRY TO BOAST THE SEATS!.

GOT A CALL FROM GM TODAY,ASKING IF THE DEALER HAD DONE ANYTHING YET. THEY SAID THAT THE DEALER HAD NOT RETURNED THEIR CALLS. I TOLD THEM I HAD CALL THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE POSTINGS ON THE WEB,RE HEATED SEATS HEATING UP ALOT QUICKER THAN MINE. GM SAID THEY WOULD GET THEIR TECH PEOPLE ON THE ISSUE, STAY TUNED.

GM CALLED ME TODAY,SAID DEALER CALLED AND WAS CHECKING OTHER DEALERS TO SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR AVALANCHE SEATS TO HEAT.

I guess the question is...how cold is it? My seats warm up very quickly...but I tell you this morning at 15 degrees...it felt like forever! :p

It's all about the starting temp. Do you park outside vs. in a garage? I notice a differance between the two.

I think my seats are slow compared to my 300M and the Sierra I owned. I would say like today where it sat out all night at 20 degrees, I took about 10 minutes before I had to bump them back to LOW heat. I really don't have time to P :eek:ss with the dealer over it. I am waiting for something else to come up so I can make one trip.

GOT A CALL FROM GM TODAY TO SAY THAT IN MY AREA IT TAKES 6 TO 7 MINUTES FOR HEATED SEATS TO HEAT.THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE EQUIPMENT THAT WILL TEST THE SEAT. NOW IF I COULD PUT MY IMPALA (3 MIN) HEATED SEATS IN MY AVALANCHE MY WIFE WOULD BE HAPPY.

Ah Phyto could you turn of your CAPS please...It makes me feel like you are yelling at me.

Thanks!

UH, maybe it's me....so I'll apologize in advance but what does heated seats and the time it actually takes them to heat have anything to do with what part of the world we come from?

Sounds to me like something isn't right here...

They must be be comparing the time the seats heat up to the ambient temperature outside for this time of year. That way they have a means. Otherwise, it would be dumb to compare seats in Arizona to seats in Washington due to the climate differences. They need to compare the seats of more than one Avalanche in the same exact climate conditions. Just my opinion.

Leave your car parked out overnight, in the moring drive to the dealer using your heated seats, take a dearer AV for a drive using the heated seats and compare. Mine heat up in about 2 minutes and then I set them to low. The AV is garaged at about 45 to 50 degrees and the outside temp here has been averaging 30 degrees. One other point - my wife leaves the seats on high for 10 minutes or so meaning that other AV owners will all be different. You need to compare for yourself.

It's been really cold here lately (18 degrees yesterday) plus with the wind it's even colder. My Avalanche is always garaged, but in this cold weather, it probably takes closer to 5 or more minutes for the seats to feel warm because they are ice cold to begin with. I took one of my dogs to the vet the other day and even she was cold. I had a thick blanket on the seat for her. The vet is only about 5 minutes away, but the seats weren't warm enough yet. In warmer weather the seats heat up very quickly. :D

My Av also takes about 10 min to heat up much. In my wife's Grand Cherokee you can feel them warm up in just a minute or two.
