I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF A 02 AV 2500,10K, 8.1, 373 GEAR, (BOUGHT NEW), I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS THAT THIS VEH HAS SPENT MORE TIME IN THE DEALER THAN MY DRIVE AND IT STILL NOT FIXED
1- M.P.G. 7+-.5 CITY(I DRIVE LIKE A OLD MAN) 10+- .5
(65, CRUISE, FLATLAND)

2- COLD START TERRIBLE HESITATION WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM THE CURB. NOT EVERY DAY,ONLY ABOUT 70% OF THE TIME, NOT WEATHER RELATED, ONLY ONE TIME PER OCCURENCE. DOES NOT DIE OUT NOR SET ANY CODES.THE DEALER HAS (GUESTED)THROWN EVERY PART AT IT AND STILL NO FIX ??? :8:

Sorry to hear your problems. I'm not a mechanic, but sounds to me like it could be a bunch of things. My initial gut thought after reading was the computer. My Av as well as a few others run perfect 99.9% of the time, but sometimes won't allow the transmission to shift all the way down to 1st gear at stoplights. That MAY be you problem with the hesitation. That's why I say computer problems. Also sounds like you might have some other issues with the MPG. 7-10 MPG is Extremely Low unless you are running 600 HP under the hood! I don't really have any ideas on that. I'm just trying to think outside the normal since you say the dealer tried throwing everything else at it. Just remember I'm not a mechanic so I could just be talking a bunch of crap. Good Luck! :B:

Welcome to the club.....and please try not to type with CAPS ON as it seems you are yelling at us....

The mileage seems low but within what people with the 2500 have stated they get.....the highest I remember someone posted with the 2500 was like 13mpg on the highway....and well everyones mileage will vary based on location, habits etc.....

Have you tried another dealer to fix your problem?
