Hello. Starting today, my factory alarm just started going off for no reason. :E: It happened 3 times in the past 7 hours while parked in my driveway. Every time it went off I was outside in a matter of seconds to check it out. There wasn't a soul in sight & the truck is unharmed so I don't think it is someone tampering with my Av. The only unusual thing that has happened was yesterday when I went to the store. When I came out of the store and started my Av it was reading that the rear left passenger door was ajar, even though I haven't opened any doors except the driver's door in a week. I got out & opened & closed the door but the message was still there. I drove home & turned the truck off and started it again & it went away. I don't know if that's contributing to the alarm going off, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. Right now I am working 7:00a.m-7:00p.m. Monday - Saturday so I don't have time to take it to the dealer. I will call them however. Any Suggestions?

Visit a dealer...seems a door switch may be bad.....or something

You have a bad door switch. The alarm goes off when it senses current draw when armed. Check the little rubber grommet around the door switch on the door that was showing ajar. I had one partially popped out and rain dribbled down onto it. It shorted out and set off my alarm. If that is the case, all you have to do is put the grommet back and hose it down with some WD40 followed by a little spray silicone. If the switch is not damaged it should be fine. Pull the fuse before hosing with any spray.

Jakom,

Did you get this problem resolved? My 03 just started doing the same thing, and it was giving me the same warning, 'left rear door ajar". Just wanted a little info on it before I took it to the dealership.

I am having the exact problem but instead of the left rear door I am getting the right rear door message. It is also sounding the alarm at strange moments.... I noticed that this NEVER happens until it rains outside!!!

I could not find any switch exposed. my rubber grommet is completely enclosed on my truck so I don't know how to resolve this...

Is this a dealer only fix???

Just bought an 2011 LTZ a few months ago and new to the club.
My alarm is going off even when the doors are just locked and the alarm is not even set. No door ajar or any kind of warning light. The dealership had it 10 days and gave it back saying "they do not know what the issue is because there are no error codes, it could be hundreds of different problems". Very frustrating! Going to try the service department at a different Chevy dealership.
