...and I want to know how bright I can go.

One of my tail lamp bulbs has burned out so I'll be pulling the assembly anyway. So while it is out I figured I do the backup lamp and get the other site.

Ultimate question - how many Watts can I push through before I start burning up housings. I know that they will be short duty (no more than 60 to 90 seconds of uninterrupted use) so I can push them harder than fog lamps or DRL's - but how hard can I go. The stock lights are IMHO pretty darn useless for providing rear illumination.

I just replaced my backup lights with some 50 watt that I read about in Sport Truck, got them at Advanced Auto for 9.95 a pr. Made by AutoDesign Tech. They also make one that has a 50 watt light and a "beep-beep" signal when the vehicle goes in reverse. Really cool and gives you 100 watts in back-up light. Can also find they in JC Whitney Catalog........Gizmo ;D ;D ;D

WHICH ONES DID YOU GET. WENT TO JC WHITNEY AND FOUND SEVERAL PART NUMBERS AND GO TOTALLY CONFUSED. NONE OF THEM SAID THEY REPLACE 3157. :E:
