:6: Please help I had a white pole jump out and scuff my cladding, what's the best way to take off smal amount of paint from the cladding?
thanks

Try some Naptha ( lighter fluid ) Depending what type of paint it is, it should come it off without hurting the cladding. If that does not work use small amount of lacquer thinner. Good Luck

I would clean first with some cleaner....and scrub brush....to get as much off as possible.....

Then try some 3M wax remover....Before using any chemical on the cladding I suggest testing in hidden area....to check for colorfastness....

Also if you hit something,,,,,,it is likely you scraped the cladding and changed the texture and might have made it turn white....which is what it does when stressed too much for some reason......

Son of a . . . chicken! On my way to work I ran over some paint. It splattered over my cladding, got in between the tires, and got some on the doors.

I rushed back home and washed it down, but there are still some specks here and there.

Can anyone recommend any other proven solutions? Help :E:

Well, after hours of cleaning the AV, I finally got the specs of paint of the body of the truck. I used Mothers Clay Bar System, which including some detailing spray, and a small bottle of was, which I all used.

However, the cladding still has small specs of paint. You have to look really close to see them. I tried some alcohol based chemicals, but that didn't work. What I did use, not to clean it but to restore the cladding color was Meguires Tech Protectant. This really helped to condition the cladding especially with the cargo covers and panels, which was starting to show its age.

For the side steps I was able to remove the paint using the alcohol based chemicals I tried above.

The only place that I can not get to is in-between the tire groves. Since my tires are fairly new, the grove are deep and hard to get to. I'm sure If I got a Q-Tip and some alcohol that it would probably do it, but right now, I'll deal with it.

Any other recommendations for the cladding would be great.
