Friends, I am looking for what YOU would do, or even better if anyone has a PIC or two to share!!!

I am getting my INFINITY 6000CS ( components ) inserted into my front doors tomorrow, and I am wondering SHOULD I GET my stock speaker grills replaced over them, OR SHOULD I USE the supplied INFINITY speaker grills!!

I like the idea of using the INFINITY Grills since they actually have the LOGO on them, but I don't know what kind of opening or hole that will leave in my Av front doors!!

ANYONE can help a fellow MOD ADDICT???

Can you take the Infinity logo off the supplied screens and attach to your stock screens?

I like the stealth/stock look, but that is JMO.

>:D YAK,

Did Enkei - Give You The OK to Purchase Those ?

I would stick w/stock

My .02
*heeh* Tubby, Enkei was kinda 50/50 on me, but he understands the Canadian thing and pricing and stuff.......

Still waiting on his feedback too on the grill!!

KODIO!! I never thought of that, about the logo, thanks!!! (y)
RichUF, thanks for the input too!! (y)

Unless you are going to fiberglass your doors and they are going to pay you a ton of money and go to shows all over the place. I would just put the speakers in the stock local. ;D90% of the replacment speakers I sell keep the stock look... There you go Yak...
By the way what are they chargeing you?

Glenn Enkei fenders are in Avalanche
Had to plug them.... >:D

Enkei, thanks millions!!

THIS is the reason I love this site, because you all are very helpful!! Thanks!!

(y) (y)

I'll see if I can peel of the INFINITY logo and stick it on the STOCK grill!! ;D

PS: Glenn, I think they said 2 hours labour charge.

leave stock....this way they are hidden and less likely to be stolen

The best reason to leave them stock: There's no good way to install the Infinity grills without modifying the door panel to make the look decent.

On another car of mine I removed the Infinity logo ( the cresent with the infinity symbol on it) from their covers and heat glued them to the factory grills...that looked hot but then it was in a ricer :6:

AV is in the garage now, and speakers SHOULD (hopefully) be installed by LUNCH!!!!

NEXT QUESTION for the ELECTRONICS GURU's: HOW SHOULD I BREAK IN THE NEW SPEAKERS? AND for how long??

THanks!!!

I have those speakers and went with the stock look.

Yakster.... Leave the factory look bro.. clean and stealth. (y) Glenn gave you the 50/50 ok ??? I know he is a JL man and I think he told me that infitiny's are kinda on the bright side. To each his own though. More power to you and congrats on the install!!

BTW: PICS... THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!!! >:D

I feel speaker break in is a farce...but that is my opinion.....

I feel if they sound like crap....listnening to them during a "break in period" just allows your mind to say ....:

"YEah they do sound good for all the money I spent"

I say turn em on....listen and judge them.....

Good luck

Speaker break in is mostly for subs.. to get their extention to its max for SPL basically. Never broke in door speakers only my subs. Usually use white noise on half volume on the radio, half gain on the amp for 20 minutes. Then set the gain and crossovers on the amp for normal use and lisen to an IASCA SPL test CD to tune the subs for max output, minimal distortion. Then tune whole system with IASCA SQ+ CD.

Thats my way but I know there are other ways.

AVALANCHE ROOKIE -> HOW do you find those speakers? Happiness quotient?? Sound ?? Etc!!!

I like them better than the POS Bose speakers. Quality is great, especially at high volumes. I just need to add an amp to take advantage of their full potential.

You can actually see the speakers thru the stock grill.....looks cool. I'll try to take a pic of them tonight and post tomorrow.

Av_Rookie, thanks for the feedback!! I am picking up my Av in a few hours, with the new Infinity's in the front!!
Now just gotta get the rear replaced; what did you use in the rear doors? Did you also check out the Infinity BASSLINK subwoofer???

I used the Infinity 6002I speakers for the back. I was looking at the Alpine MRPM350 amp but decided to wait for now. Trying to decide if I'm going to add a sub-woofer.

Perfect!! Thats what I am bidding for now on EBay as well for the rear!! I am looking at the self-amplified sub tubes for the rear, since its less hassle (even though I know they will not give the same bass as the ones with dedicated amps and boxes and stuff; I don't want to lose any functionality of the Av!).

ENKEIAV, you were right about being BRIGHT, but I have adjusted the equalizers down on the treble, and it seems ok!! As well, I turned my DSO down to 1 from the 3 it was on with the stock speakers!! NOW!! DO I NEED to replace the amp that is supposedly in my dash somewhere??

Thanks everyone!!
