We had a lot of rain in SC the past few weeks and I never removed my hard covers.

I took the truck to FL on holiday, and decided to wash and wax my baby since I had the time. When I took my covers off water poored (and I do mean poored) out of pannel 1 and 2. No water in the bed or the cab but the pannel was about 10lb lighter after I let it drain out.

Is this normal? I had a boat that did that but then it was old and the pontoons had drain plugs for that reason.

I called 2 dlrs and they never heard of this. I hate to lose my truck for a day if this is normal. If not I will have to take it to a dlr to have them look at the covers.

THis is not easy as I do not live near a reputal dlr and have to drive quite a ways to get to one.

So help...

Thanx

Seems like I remember this problem on a smaller scale being reported in the forum somewhere a long time back.
I am sure it isn't normal, and if you have a decent dealer he should replace the leakers under warranty.
I better check mine.

Sorry no pictures but the water did come out of the pannels. I will pull them off tonight to have another look at them.

Help, have same problem, water in 3 cargo panels ... dealing with dealer now, found out problem by trying to use the straps that are to be used when you "stow" the panels in a special configuration on r.r. side of cargo area, and have noticed that water comes out of panels when i'm moving them around, but when i follow directions and attempt to use straps, they come up 3-4" short. Logic tells me they've expanded (moisture, water, etc.) :help: P.S.  Dealer actually got straps to work, I probably would have as well but I didnot want to bend gutters up along rightside of cargo area (200:cool:, Dealer seems to think this is ok, and that gutters will return to form as heat (sun) softens them up. Anyone else havethis issue ?... Do they expand? should i seal cargo panels?...bought @ 53k in Aug of 11 &have 58k now

Any update to this?? I noticed last week one of my covers is holding water.

This is common and not really a problem. I am now on my 3rd AV and all three have had that issue to some extent. In my case, I take the bed covers off fairly often. Even though it doesn't rain much here in North Texas and the Av is garaged both at home and work. Every time I take a cover off, some water runs out. Never been anything more than mildly annoying.
