I am planing on doing mods to the engine.

Can I put in the UPD, 8.1 Whipplecharger, Volant Intake, and the Airaid.

Also what is an intercooler?

I assume that you have a 1500 - if that is the case then you can use the Volant with a Whipple, a UPD will not match up properly - I don't know why you would want the airraid - presume that you are not referring to the TBS.

An intercooler is a water cooled unit that cools the pressurized air from the supercharger before it enters the engine - helps prevent detonation. It is not available for the 5.3L Whipple.

If you have a 2500 then you can get the intercooler and in fact should.

TBS = Throttle body spacer. The jury is still out on this. Mixed opinions on this and other sites.

A UPD won't fit with a whipple, it is meant to go straight from the stock intake box to the intake manifold. It is a once piece thing so you wouldn't be able to reconfigure it to fit. With a whipple, the intake tube comes from the back of the engine bay down towards the intake box and uses an elbow to connect it, there should be some pictures of it posted here on peoples homepages.

Are there any blowers that have the intercooler option for the 5.3's...or are the 8.1 the only one's that need this kind of cooling.... :B:

Not for the Whipple, some of the centrifugals come with intercoolers - or you can home rig one from the diesel guys - not easy, but can be done.

Only if you modify the connection to the supoercharger with flex hosing.

The stock box and the K&N both work with minor adjustment.

The volant would be the better choice since it is isolated from the engine somewhat causing the filter to not suck in all that heat if you will........I might switch from K&N to volant when I supercharge in the future....... :B:
