I was out in the country driving to my father-in-laws farm, Then i had a drink of coffee and when i took it down there was a deer coming in front or me. i hit the brakes and hit him at about 45-50. Thank goodness i have a brush gaurd, otherwise i t would have been much worse even though its pretty bad now. But the light brackets are busted, The grill is busted, The crossbar is busted. The bowtie fell off, The bumper is cracked, The bug shield busted, the brush gaurd is bent, the right fender is dented from his head, And the hood it dented  ,its pretty bad :6:, anyway here are a few pics http://community.webshots.com/album/57563666DRnDTa

Sorry to see this... here in Pennsylvania, this is an all too familiar occurence. At least now you can enjoy some venison. The balogna and jerky are my favorite from the doe/buck.

That looks a lot like when I hit a deer, did the air bags go off? You will be surprized the cost it will take to repair, mine was 6k and 4 trips back to get everything done right.Go underneath before you take it in,body shops like to hide damage with new parts on top.Sorry for the bad luck my friends tell me I hunt with a truck.

If you did not have the brush bar that front end would have had even more damage. I have hit several deer over the years and I know what it is like to get hit by a deer. Sorry about the damage, but that 8 point buck is really nice. I hope you got to keep the deer. Insurance will fit the AV and you have a story to tell for the rest of your life.

Why ya got the deer hung upside down? It's time to brush up on your jerky recipes.

I like the brush guard. looks like it held up well and did a good job reducing the potential damage. What model? Brand? Did you do the install?

Thanks for the great slideshow of pics. It always adds to the story.

No the airbags didnt go off which is good that they didnt , probly would have hurt. And yep i got to keep the deer gonna skin it now. Its a Luverne Brush gaurd heres a site Brush Gaurd I had the dealer install it.

You gonna mount the deers horns on the hood? Would look kinda nice behind the hood protector! Might scare off any other deer that dare to get in your way:) Sort of like a PA version of the Texas Cow horns ya know??
Glad you were OK in the accident? Didn't spill the coffee and mess up the carpets did ya?

Sorry to see the AV banged up. But living in MN we deal with that. Glad to see you got to keep the deer. (by the way I like my venison sausage spicy) LOL Hope you get it back together soon and good thing you had the cow catcher up front. Good luck and glad to hear you were ok.

Sorry to hear about the AV, brush gaurds do work. I'm getting one as soon as I can afford one. Good to hear that you get to keep the deer. Up in my neck of the woods they usually don't let you keep it, I don't really know why. Best wishes to you and your AV.

Jakson - This is not the proper way to deer hunt :)

Seriously sorry to hear about the AV, Hopefully you all ok. I know this can shake you up alittle.. Hopefully everything will be fixed before the Jan Meet.

See ya then - Chris

Wow and you get to keep the buck too!

Gee, a long time ago when I lived in way upstate NY, one of my friends totalled his El Camino hitting a good size buck (my buddy wasn't injured). The buck landed in bed. He wanted to keep it (he had an unused tag in the truck) but the State Policeman confiscated it (probably took it for himself :) )

Glad that you weren't hurt. Got to get me one of those guards... I've had enough close calls with deer, moose and bear over the years!

It's WVBubba who needs the recipes.
He hit a wild dog.

He has his body work done, but still has this dog hanging in the tree out back.

Anybody got a good poached pooch recipe???
