Hit A Deer

i was just driving around in my av (at night) and of course there were deer around (i was driving next to a field) and this baby deer ran across the road! I tryed to stop but it was to late i had hit the deer. But luckley i hadened killed the deer. When i got home i looked at my bumper but there was nothing there! I was pretty suprised, because i hit it pretty hard. I thought i had got blood on my bumper but nope.

So are you going to get those little ultra-high pitched noise makers for you AV? Supposed to be a sort of wind whistle that keeps animals away from the road as you approach.

I came pretty close to a medium size buck last night i had to slam on the brakes then he went toward the ditch and i honked the horn and he came at me a little bit he was pretty dumb Good to hear nothing happend to your truck or the deer (to bad anyway)

Look at the bright side. Think of the stories the deer will be able to tell about surviving an avalanche!!!

I found something that works better.......Flowmaster Cat-back system.

The dear hear me coming and just stand on the side of the road and wish they could drive my Avalanche.

Yes you were very lucky-I hit a big mule deer and the out come was $6,000 damage but driveable, the AV was 6 weeks old.AS far as those high pitch whistles I swear that its what made the deer jump into my lane.Friends of mine think this too,its scares them (sometimes) right in front of you.

"FORGETABOUTIT" my father had a pair on his 86 chevy and going home from a ball game in Scranton my sister was driving they were watching for deer on the left side and three deer jumped out from the right side.
He drove home the next weekend with a new 1990 Chev.

I have heard many similar reports from friends and family who have experiences with them. They have had more close calls or accidents with wildlife after they were installed than before. Dad jokes that if dust builds up in them, the frequency changes into something more like a mating call. :)

I'm not sold on the deer whistle. As I recall, you need to be going 30+ mph for them to work. I have gone by deer feeding 20 yards from the side of the road that didn't even look up when I went buy. I have also had a coyote wait until I was just about on top of him, while traveling 80 mph, when he decided to cross the road right in front of me. I swear his tail must be a tire width shorter!

Aahhh, come on. ?For +$300 you know it's gotta work ?;)
Holy ruminids! Three hundred bucks? The ones I was talking about are a lot cheaper. They aren't electric, but create a noise from the wind blowing through them. The require periodic cleaning. Hard to tell if it makes any difference though.
