Now THAT IS COOL! How about a little more detail about how you made it and what it is mad out of?

connected to the 7 pin trailer plug, led's power just like trailer lights. back-up lights power off 12 volt line to charge trailer battery, activated by relay hooked to trailer back-ups. standard draw-tite hitch with 2" ball, welded steel body with aluminum tread plate on top, screwed on with stainless screws. also have 4 pin from draw-tite, part # 18384, for smaller trailers. camper uses bigger hitch, with sway bars and load levelers, so I remove for that.

Is there a Avalanche Fan Club Hitch covers out there? If so where can we get one. I really like a clean/stock/simple truck and I didn't want to put stickers on the windows. But I want ot show the club off, so I wanted to see if the covers where out there. If there is not one out there, then hopefully this will inspire one.

I agree. I don't like the look of stickers on the window, also remove mine whenever I get a chance >:D so a club hitch cover would be great. My dealership has plastic hitch covers with their logo on it and I talk with them the other day and they gave me a blank one for about 3 bucks and I put my race team logo on it. I can find out for the club, if they would like, if I can get some for a group buy and make up the logo out of vynal and get them out. OR BETTER YET let Tribal AV do the stickers and I can get the hitch cover blanks to him and he can ship them out!! Sound like a plan moderators???

:B: -BD- :B:

I'd be up for that as well. Me too, no stickers on truck...stickers badddd.

I got a decal hitch cover online for like $5.95, laminated my club decal with wide clear tape and stuck it to the hitch cover. It held up pretty good in the rain and stuff.

the fan club hitch covers you see are custom made by each member.......

I made one from a old chvey bow tie and adding the cutting the club decal and sticking on .....

Someone else paid a company to make him one that lights up....

Be creative..........HTH

Kim,
Do you have any pictures of you cover?

Here's one, but I think I have a better one on my home PC, I will look when I get home tonight.

Kim

(Just a note: My club decal is on the hitch cover, the other yellow circle on the window was my #1 Steve Park decal ;D ...didn't want to cause confusion.)

That is pretty cool. Did you just buy a generic cover, or was there a specific one that you found that was close to the sticker size?

Nah the decal hung over the top and bottom a little, the hitch cover was 3" x 5"....I will see if I can find the link to where I bought it. It was just a black hard plastic and I bought a bolt with a locking nut to keep it on, I figured if someone wanted to steal a $5.95 hitch cover that badly they could have it, no use in having a $20 lock on a cheap hitch cover...

Check this one out (about half way down)

Yea, I understand about the locking bolt. If you tow alot or have different hitches I would recomend buying one.
I checked out your pics, pretty cool stuff. Looks like you have done alot of work.

I have the flip-step hitch cover. They now have about 3 or 4 different designs. The decal fit very nicely.
I have chrome but that there black, polished, etc...

If you tell them you are a member of the club you get a discount I believe.
WARNING. The wire for the light on the cover enters at the bottom. I managed to break mine. Too hard to re-wire so I am now sans light. Keep in mind my truck is pretty low.

So I was reading this thread and I had a thought. I, like some others here, dont like the whole "sticker look". To be clear, I like decals when done correctly, but I had a thought. There is a member here (I dont remember who exactly) who does custom billet knobs for the interior of the Av. Why couldn't we talk to him about making a metal version of the Club logo (he does work in stainless steel and other styles) for a trailer hitch. I think that would look pretty stylin and its a great way to pimp the club. Just my .02.

Just bought an Avi cover, but hey...You can never have enough hitch covers ;D

Count me in for one :D

I was just wondering... I'm about to order the tailgate letters from autotrimdesign, but I'm still deciding on a color. Yours are reflective red, right? Do you know why they didn't reflect as well in the picture as the rest of your reflective red mods? Is it just the way the picture came out, or does it reflect well at night when headlights hit it?

Hey Orboater, if you still got one of the SS covers like yours I will take it. Even though I already have a hitch cover, I have a thing for Stainless Steel, anyways my first one is starting to show some signs of the orange/brown stuff :8: :6: :D:

So I would like to have an SS one for if nothing else, GTGs ;D

Yes I still have two of the SS ones with Avalanche Spelled out on them.

PM your name and address info and I'll send it to you. You can send check to me after you receive the cover.

I will be leaving town today untill next Tuesday. If you send your info I'll send it out then.

These are very high quality. The only thing you have to do to keep it looking new is an occasional wipe with a little WD40.

No, the "Chevrolet" tailgate letters are not reflective. They are the standard red domed polyurethane style. I was afraid that making the tailgate letters reflective would be a bit over the top for my tastes.

Rather than match the reflective tape you see in the pic, my goal was to match the red in the side mountain decals.
