hollow "knock" or "rattle" sound comin from rear

like i said when i go over bumps i hear a weird hollow klunk kind of sound comin from the rear...friend thinks it might be the bushings on the sway bar are a lil loose and have to much play in them but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem...thanx

what you describe sure sounds like a bad bushing
