Actually I refinanced my mortgage so I could buy it outright...but then came 9-11 and 0% financing, so I went with the 0%, 36month GMAC.

To make my loaded Z71 as affordable as possible, I went the GMAC 36 mo lease route. Saved about $100 a mo by leasing as opposed to buying.

I keep throwing around the idea of buying it at lease end, but by then I can't imagine how cool the '05s will be!

GMAC 0% 36 month financing - always use someone elses money for as long as you can! I've done similar same as cash deals on appliances, computers, electronics, furniture, for as long as I can remember.

Also used GM Buypower to find the perfect Av. All in all a smooth buying experience.

Couldn't pass up the year-end 0% financing, cash back, and GMS employee discount (father-in-law.) (y)

At 0%, GMAC is paying me to take a loan! Any money I would have put down up front I can leave in the bank and make interest.

I was concerned that I wouldn't make the deadline though. After many months of whining, as my Christmas present my wife caved in and said I could get one. Day before Christmas we closed the deal, got a great trade-in on my old Blazer, and found the exact truck I wanted in Pennsylvania. (I'm in Buffalo, NY). Dealer said that they would bring it up the day after Christmas. Well, wouldn't you know that it started snowing that night, and five days and seven feet later I was wondering if they would be able to get the truck before the Jan 2 financing deadline. :6:

Finally stopped snowing and there was a chance to get it on Jan 31, but my dealer was the starting point for the Olympic Torch relay in Buffalo that day, and they were too busy to do anything else but prepare for the party.

Finally, they went to get it the morning of the second, prepped it, and I took delivery 15 minutes before closing when the financing would have evaporated. (y)

I love snow, but that week was really bumming me out: I was worrying if they would get the truck in time, and I missed out on the chance to play in all that snow with my new toy! :8:

I also used GMBuypower to find mine (black Z71), however I was slightly better off taking the rebate and a 4.75 interest rate than no rebate and the 2.9 financing (wish I could have done the 0% for 36 mos.). I also went to a lot of dealerships in a 50 mile radius and compared options and prices til I spied the one I had to have - and fortunately it was at the best price I could wrangle. Buypower is great for inventory shopping, but the quotes via e-mail were nothing compared to the "I'm so serious I showed up" prices we got. :B:

I used GMBuypower to check dealers inventories one at a time for exactly what I wanted rather than using their "search" and having a dealer contacting me. I didn't want a dealer to know that they had exactly what I wanted and was the only one in a 500 mile radius that did. I financed for 60 months at 5.9% with GMAC and received the rebate as well.

I got a loan through the San Antonio Federal Credit Union. I thought it was funny that they could give me a better deal than GMAC

What's A better Deal than 0% for 60 months?

I'd like to find that myself. ;D

My wife and I got back from a week in Maine on 8/5/02.
The next day we saw ALL KINDS of GM ads on the Today show, but no trucks......until about 9:00 am.....then the Av ad appeared, and I saw it 6 times in a row. Next thing I know She Who Must Be Obeyed tells me "let's take a ride".......2 hours later I walk out with a deal ;D ;D ;D

Let's hear it for Generous Motors!!!! ;D

I had no choice but to lease it. My wife's the kinda of person who keeps a vehicle forever. If I'd committed to buying my Av, it would be my last new truck for 10 years! Not that it's a bad thing, but what would I do when the introduce the '03-'04 Av with a 3/4 ton 6.0L Quadrasteer Av with painted cladding? I would torment myself by going to the dealerships to drive them, knowing that I could only love them from the window. :(

Went with GMAC 0% for 36 mos.
Downpayment $5,000.00 (been saving up)
Rebate 2,000.00 from GM
Purchase price around 34K
MSRP around 38K

I have to admit that when I was in the market for a new truck....it was shortly before the unfortunate incidents of last year....after putting off the purchase because of what happened...I then found myself looking at the deals being offered by GM and couldn't resist.....

My wife is also the kind that likes to hold on to cars for many years ....she better we had just purchased her VW
a little over 1 1/2 years..... :B:

I don't think that my Av is going to go anywhere...it's the long haul for me...
