My 2012 Avalanche's lights turn on every time I use the keyfob to unlock the doors, how do I disable the headlights from turning on?
The problem I have is I have to back into my driveway and my driveway is pitched at an angle that makes my LED (bright) headlights shine directly at my neighbor's house.. he gets pissed about it and we almost got into an altercation on a couple of occasions.
I don't want to lose the alarm feature.. just don't want the headlights coming on every time I unlock my door at night.

I think its in one of the buttons located on the right hand side where you can check oil and stuff
Press the customization button to scroll through the available customizable options

look on page 177ish of your owners manual

Perfect! Thanks for sending the manual!!

I've read that if the parking brake is set, the auto headlights do not come on.
I don't know if this is the case for all model years.
A word of caution; if you don't regularly use your parking brake, it could stick when set and not release.
That is why I have not tested this light function.

Good to know. I do use my parking brake as much as I remember.. especially living in the north country.
