after having got change, for a year now,people around town know I drive an avalanche!

now there is more than 1 black z-71 around town, and I always have flipped on my parking lights when cruising, to have 2 parks, and 2 drls light up, so any buddies know its me coming down the road.

I have swapped the park and turn filaments, for an even brighter glow, from the parks,just to be different.

I got to wondering, do other avrs, "send A message" by running other than the stock drls(or ambered drls) as they cruise the streets!!

maybe this poll will reveal avrs lighting habits!!

I realized, on the highway, at 75 mph and another av coming the other way, for a combined 150 mph closing rate that you only have about 3 1/2 seconds to recognize, and flash your brights, as an av hello, and you have to react quick, for the other avr to signal you back.

maybe we can come up with a ?cafcna lighting sequence to provide on the road av recognition!!!

Hay change I also have 9 dlr bulbs wired under my AV >:D Now thats bright :cool:
 
me? i just drive around the day with my amber drls and amber parking lights on

but at night it's all 8 on for me... headlights... amber drls amber parking lights and fog lamps.

and for those winding roads at night with nobody on them...i just wired my av up so i can have all 10 on... yeah thats right highbeams on too...

plus i got some piaa lights on order.... >:D

I often have my parking lights on to have another set of amber lights on the front. Fogs......ONLY when needed. Think about it, you put in brighter bulbs then run around with them all on because it looks cool. I don't think I'd care to have you behind me. I get pretty ticked with people that drive around in a well lit city in clear weather with thier fog lights on. Some aren't bad but some can be pretty annoying.

I appreciate that. I live just outside the "Austin City Limits" where there are no street lights. Have to turn fog lights (or brights) on just to stay on the pavement when I turn on to my street! :cool:
 
You know it's sad but true.... I tried to get some amber DRLs on the Oregon COast Cruise. The guy working at the NAPA store said that they didn't even have the stock number in their system. I know the number was a good one because I got it straight from the Chief!

Now, I have to wait. It is too close to Christmas to do any personal mods. You never know what will turn up in a stocking :D

 
During the day I go with the straight amber DRL's.....unless it's creeping up on sunset..then I flip the parking lights on and the DRl's....

At night I go with the low/fog stock setup...I run the fogs all the time at night, because I need all the help I can get seeing..... :B:

somehow, I knew, that avrs,(especially cafcna) avrs would have to mod, even the way they drive around, with daytime lights.

I figured some would flip on the parks, during the day, to go along with the amber drls.

Not to roast somebodys eyeballs, but to ..present... the balanced, amber look.

i will admit that sometimes a car or truck, coming from the other way, will have bright fogs, or aux lights on, and from time to time, ill smoke em with my aircraft lights,
but basically, on this post, i was just curious to see if other avs, kinda sent a signal to their fellow avrs, that looked a little different, than just turning the key, and driving on.

and yep, a few of us do!

There isn't a NEON option in the POLL either :-[
 
I also run amber drls in the day and switch on park and drls at dusk and I run my fogs at night. I like the balance of 4 ambers at dusk and it should be the adopted club policy for lighting >:D JMHO (lots of people run around with park lights on and I want them to know that my amber drls are not park lights - therefore turn on all four and make do a double take.) :0:
 
I caught a glimpse of my Drl's and fog's on both at the same time in the back of a minivan today...and I must say it was kind of cool looking....not to mention the parking lights....looks different... :B:
