Vaeagleav - Just stick with it , I have had the same happen to me where I coordinate an event and no one shows up , other times 10-15 show up. I agree sometimes it is alot more fun to attend a event while you dont have to worry about time tables or discounts , what ever the case.? Soon you will get a core group of members and your get together will get larger and larger. All of the chapters start somewhere they just need people like you to keep the light on and keep it going. I am sure you are doing a great job , keep it up.

To respond to the drama -
You know Ro , first of all review my post , did i mention your site ? No , I didnt mention your site . In fact I know of at least 2 that allow such content. I support only one club which is this club. I do not post or view Avowners , clubav or avstyle or anyother site , only this club and the chapters of it.? ?Please Enjoy what you are doing , not losing any sleep over it here. And if you notice I didnt attack Cliff , I said he was 100 % RIght on the money with his comments !!!? I added the top paragraph to further the point that this is how the membership of Norcal are trying to run it , like the Socal and AzClubI dont have any problems with Cliff , the past is the past and I wont let things in the past interfer with the future and any event that he attends or chapter he is involed with can only be better with his presence , I know ours was while he was with us !

2nd - I dont need a hug for you or any other member that has left , you may of tagged us for the club but we were the ones that started the chapter and with the help of the members it has grown and become more than just trucks , it has become a family of great Avalanche owning friends.?

3rd - We signed up for your site after hearing from other members about a new avalanche site that you were advertising for on our chapter forum via PMs. This was BEFORE you required people to be submit to the 21 and over content.? Have we tried after that ? NOPE , I am interested in the trucks , not adult matterial. Besides you turned both of our memberships down as " Your membership here would be a conflict of intersts " esentialy banning us and other Norcal members from your site after you left the norcal chapters.

4th - Members Banned - The norcal Chapter has only banned 4 people since we have been orginized starting on 3 years now.

One asked to be removed and was banned after we were told about a distrubing comment placed in their profile. This happened almost a year ago and said member has been asked to rejoin us.

One was removed after 3 complaints were made from female members about harassing/stalking type behavior . We asked how they would like to see this distrubing things resolved and all parties agreed to have the member removed from the chapter. We could not let something like this go and the membership was notifed of the action taken place and all parties involed were not mentioned by name to protect their privacy.

3rd was removed after members were tired of getting PMs from that member creating drama and unrest that was not nessary.?

4th was removed after being an unsafe driver in a parking lot during and event , which was a probation and the ban was lifted.

Now I am not going to name any names because to be honest after these people left the chapter has been pretty much drama free and has just helped the club become closer.

As far as our website content is concerned, it's really none of your business is it. Do you own the internet? Last time I check you didn't. Members are given a choice to see what they want, it's called freedom of choice.

Did I claim to own the internet ? Dont think my name is Al gore but hey your story. I simply stated my viewing choices of the internet. Oh and since you brought up Freedoms , how about speech ?? Someone posted how I would like to see a chapter run and? I posted my comments ! That I like to see family orientated chapters of the trucks we own. Then I get attacked by you , the funny thing is I really dont care what your views are , ESPEICALY on how our chapter is run. You had a chance and you offered tons of input on how to help make this one better but when you were asked for your leadership at the meeting and another member nominated you to take charge , you refused and walked away instead and started your own club. More power to ya !

Nuff said on this end - enjoy your night.

Rolando and Steve.

Get a life. Both of you. grow up already. This is a truck club. If you (or anyone) has an issue with someone else. handle it like an adult. either take the high road and ignore, or call on the phone/e-mail and deal with each other.....

Regarding the local sites. I personnaly need some sort of planning just to be involved. Due to my work schedule. so, that is where I want some calander events. But the impromtu GTG is great.... I just might have to show up in the city vehicle..... lights, star and all....

:needhug: come on guys >:D

OK, back to topic.?

2 things:? I like the way the guys and girls here in GA handle things.? They let us know about GTGs and if we can make it we do, I haven't made one yet, but it seems that they do a nice mixture of things.? Nothing overly formal, just more of a "hey we are planning to do this, who's going to make it?"? Seems to be really fun and on occasion, they put together a larger GTG that needs and gets more detailed attention.?

Second -- Loggie, I'm curious...
If events cannot be put together fast enough I like to meet for a small drive or even a coffee.? When there is time I like to have restraints involved, meet in parking lots to check out everyone?s ride and maybe do some mods.? Car show GTGs are awesome.

What kind of restraints?? :kidding:

As I am still pretty new here. I would be up for most anything the problem I have is my schedule can change on a dime. We don't really have any organization locally so if I take it upon myself to plan something I am afraid that it could fall apart if I can't make it to my own planed event.

I like the way the North East Florida guys do it. They plan a monthly resturant to meet at and hang out for a while. Then afterwards they go to someones house and work on anybody's AV that have MODS to do. I have only made it to one of their GTG and they were all real cool. I am going to try to make it to more as my schedule and distance ( i live in Palm Coast) we let me. Next time I am bringing some mods, too. :D  I am also just as close to the Central Florida guys so I may check them out sometime, too. Jax is just my home town.. >:D

 Hey I would just love to have a local chapter. That would be nice.  ;D  :0:

Right on Spike!..maybe we talk that over on Saturday and see if we can come up with an idea! I like a little organization myself, just so everybody's on the same page. Doesn't have to be a full fledged governing body or anything. Just communication between members of a local chapter so everybody knows where the g2g's are and when. Sharing information is so important, and this club and they way everybody shares new ideas is great. I've only been a member since August, but I already love this club and look forward to lots of great new ideas and meeting new people who share my interest in the AV.

Yea man sounds good. Exactly what I was thinking. I would deffinetly like to talk it over and see what we can come up with. Even if we just start out with lunch or dinner GTG's and through in a mod or activity GTG here and there.

How do I want the local chapter?  FRIENDLY!!!  FUN!!! INFORMATIVE!!! HELPFUL!!! I wouldn't even mind a monthly or bi-monthly lunch or dinner maybe on a Saturday.  How 'bout it Viper?  I know you've done several things and I haven't been able to attend, but  I would if I could plan some other things around it.  Oh, and thanks for your work so far, one day I'm going to partake of the fruit of your labor!

I would like a chapter that gets together about once a month, depending on weather. Goes to different places for GTG's. Most of all is just enjoy everyone's company and remember we are all here because of the Chevy Avalanche. This should always be first in mind. I like to have a planned date I think it makes it easier for organizing. It allows members time to adjust their schedules to be able to attend. I also would not mind having impromptu GTG's at a local Denny's or something. In the winter have a GTG and go sledding and snow mobiling.

Just have fun showing off the greatest truck ever built and enjoying the company of owners of these trucks. Learn new modding ideas from each other and even get together to help install some of those mods. Just basically a big extended family.

Just my idea.

I'm tryin to find out if we even HAVE a local chapter up in these parts. I can't get no answers from the peeps.

Here's are some excerpts from the coordinator list by ygmn:

If you have any questions about having a GTG or cruise please contact the CC nearest to you...

...New York - JSal69, MrBill, ShapeShifter

if no response, PM a bunch of the members near you
and see if they want to do something?

We don't really have a local chapter in Michigan "per se", we are limited by weather to just do a parking lot type GTG. Cold weather or snow isn't a problem, it's cold rain & cold wind we avoid.

Charity events should be planned in advance, maybe make donations discreet ? It's OK by me to announce you made a donation if the intention is to get others to donate, (if they can afford to). I for one certainly do not donate to every cause I am asked, I'd be penniless

I'd like to keep it loose since we are all too scattered about the state for regular GTGs. Sirshopolot is SW and I'm a bit north but still SE so we are opposite sides of the largest population center of our state. I'd like more local members to suggest or organize a GTG. I'd assist and attend if possible.

I would just like to see some other avs and see what mods I can do.  I like to see a good looking rig.  I don't see much action in my neck of the woods.  would like to see more... (y)

LOOSE !  I'd like to think the structure is in place should we decide to employ it. I don't want to discourage anyone from joining in a GTG or event, if "pass the hat" works best so-be-it. (sorta like it costs nothing to join CAFCNA but reel them in)

I agree Flint4X4,

For those diehard type members or in areas where there is lots of participation there are frequent events.
My interst back in April of 2005 when I started this was to try and see what the members in general liked about the GTGs and what did they want different. I thought it may help increase attendance if we could find what interested people.
So far I have not found the magic setup to attract the locals in Virginia. I have sent PMs, tried monthly meetings (No officers or dues etc.) loose GTGs in a parking lot, carshows, Toy Runs, dinner events etc with only a small core group showing up even with advance notice and reminders.

Vaeagleav,

Michigan is in flux, a significant increase in both members and participation, I can't take credit for either. Newer members willing to play are causing other members to get off the couch near as I can figure. Works for me.

I just would like to see more members.  In order for me to go to one of the nearest GTGs I need to travel 2-3 hours in any given direction.  So the sporadic GTG or lunch GTGs are really hard to get to.  I would still like to attend the planned GTG's around me and I know I'm asking allot for people to come all the way to Cleveland/Chattanooga for a GTG.  I'm planning a GTG for a local car show and I hope I can get some AV's to show up to spark some interest with all the AVs I see around here.

There are A LOT of them around you there.  When I was there the kids all kept asking me if the Avs were club members.  Unfortunately, I didn't see yours.
