How High Is The AV? (thinking About Lift)

Hi, I have a 1500 4x4. Specifications shows a height of 6'1" (approx.) Does this include the onstart antenna? I guess I could go out and figure it out but I thought someone would know off hand.

I am thinking about a 4 inch lift and have a restriction of 7 feet max for the parking structure at work. Not sure of the combo of my truck w/4 inch lift would put the antenna over 7 feet? ???

I am not sure about the on-star antenna, but dont forget to factor in the wheel and tire combo. I currently have a 6 inch lift with 35's and a roof basket with lights. I total up at 8'3".

Now I know why they put those hieght restrictoin notices at the drive-thru.

Nothing more embarrasing than pulling around the corner at Mcdonalds and finding out you cant go through the drive thru, then having to ask people to back p so you can get out. (not that its happened to me or anything)

I guess I will need to plan this properly (i.e. right size tires, etc.) :cautious:

I don't plan on using any roof rack or anything so I might get close to my restriction.

A Z-71 Avalanche with a roof rack, stock is 6'4-1/4" high. Trust me - I KNOW >:D In a 6'5" garage the OnStar antenna makes clearance but radio antenna does not. Phtang! Phtang! Phtang! On every I-beam as you drive through.

So to answer your question - if you need 7'3" and you're going to do a 4" lift - you're cool.

I'm hosed here in Seattle. My garage at work is 6" 8" - plenty of room to spare now but pressing my luck even with a 3" lift...

actually i need to clear 7 feet. I have no roof rack. so stock height 6.1 + 4 inch lift = 6.5 total. 5 inches to spare....

what kinda tires/wheels you running? how much of a diff. will this make for height? I will stick with 17's, maybe 18's and will go no bigger than 33's....
