How is ride different from factory wheels and 22s or 24s?

the ride is too smooth for you???

reading your post it is kinda hard to understand what the problem is

The ride is harsher because of the decreased sidewall flex in the tire. The braking is drastically reduced because you moved the rolling mass farther from the hub.

2 ways of correcting the problems.. ride: air the tire down a little and get softer shocks. Not a big help but helps some. Braking: either get a larger brake setup (Baer Eradispeed plus 1) to increase the stoping surface or get power slot rotors with hi po brake pads. The rotors and pad way is cheaper but you will go threw them faster do to the increased rolling mass.

Sorry for the not so cherry way of fixing the problems but basically those are the drawbacks of large rims.

:E: :E: :E:my friend, wait till you put on 36's ,,,its like riding in a concrete mixer truck,,looking for a smoother ride, your man in the field,,abuelito

I got 24s on my avy and it rides just like stock, stops fine too, i dunno why some people complain about the ride and stoping ability and some dont, mine is fine.

Fine is a relative term.

The ride may very well be fine to you...but moving from 17s to 24s makes a HUGE difference from stock and you can't fight physics...the law of inertia tells us that a truck riding on 24s will take a lot longer to stop than a truck riding on 17s. Facts are facts.

Are your wheels forged? Forged wheels have lower weight than others of the same size. Larger wheel more metal thus more mass. More mass more stopping distance and brake wear. I think TireRack has a write up on downside of bigger wheels.

I personally like the ride of my 22s, tighter and more responsive than the big stock sponges. I have the Z66 shock package which helps toward the tight ride.

Will probably upgrade the brakes, no real reason, they stop fine but would look great.

My 2 cents

no there not forged, it is noticable the braking is a little different but it is not that much different then with stocks on. Plus with the tires i have it does ride like stock.
