How Long Did It Take, To Install Your Mod??

I was browsing the cafcna site, and realized, a lot of us spend a lot of time, on our mods.

how much time did you spend, on a certain mod?
the rest of us would know the level, of difficulty, and decide if we want to try it.

one of my first ones, was to put a set of aircraft landing lights, behind my grill, in line with my headlights.

see pic attatched, for results of about 5 hours work!!!-

FT DRL 1st Time 15 Min, Now I could do it in 10.
Stereo Install about 2 Hrs. (Have 30min wrapped up in soldering alone)
Gauge Cluster Install 15 Min.
Alarm Install 1.5-2Hrs. Small hands Help.

• Amber DRLs: 5 minutes
• 885 Fogs: 5 minutes
• Magnaflow exhaust: 35 minutes at the exhaust shop
• HPPIII: 25 minutes
• Streamlinedesign decals: 2-5 minutes per decal x 6 decals
• Gold lettering on cladding: about 7 minutes per location to do 3 coats
• R&D Fog controller: 15 minutes
• Euro antenna: 2 minutes
• K&N drop-in filter: 15 minutes (disconnected negative battery lead)
• Rectangular blind spot mirrors: 5 minutes

now you boys aren't fibbin' about how long it ...really took,..are ya

i liked the answer, about now i can do it, twice as fast!!

one thing i did notice is a lot of you guys, mod list.............is quite long.... and i'm sure, not finished.

so mod on...av brothers....................g/c

got_change I'm not fibbin' just give or take 5 min. If I would have known someone was going to ask HOW LONG it took for the mods I would have kept a stop-watch with me while I modded. I plan on tripling the size of my mod list by the end of this year . . . hope I can do it. g_c I plan to put blue/red or just blue stobes in the same location as you put the Aircraft landing lights.

this damn av is a lot of fun, to own drive, and mod ain't it

strobin, lights are nice, we gotta think up a set of puddle lights, that will light up the .........avs world

i'm tryin to find high intensity bulbs , for under the mirrors,

and since you are strobin, what do you think, about you putting a set there, and strobin down, from the front wheelwell, across the runnin boards, and back to the rear wheelwell??...never say no more mods,,av bro!

Nope. Lights are simple and easy to get to on the Av. The decals are very easy to install. Of course, as you start doing mods, you gain confidence and that makes the next job that much easier...

Don't worry g_c I'll tell you if I run out of ideas so you can give me some. ?I am still trying to figure out the reverse light mod that I want to do. As soon as I can I am going to head to the local autozone and pic up some strobes to install in the mirrors. ?For your information I had one extra strobe and it is in my front left wheelwell, it looks sweet. ?I have the nerf bars so it won't look right to put stobes there. ?Do you know if there is clearance to stick two strobes in the 3rd brake light? ?

Hey Strobin,

Don't mess with the brake lights! The AV is big enough for lots of mods but for safety and legal issues, leave the brake lights alone.

Or you will be seeing red, white, and blue flashing lights in your rearview mirror

My fastest mod was dropping the organizer inside the middle console. My hands were cramping that day so it took a little longer---about 5 seconds ?
