Its great to see that there are so many of us still around. Still hanging onto our original AVs.

Bought mine in 12/02.? Orange Z71.? Will go to my son in the Army next year.
 
04/02..  81000 miles, with at least that many more to go!!!

Maybe I'll have her done in 4 more years..  I think it is lift time..
 
Have my "original" '02. 106K, 3rd set of Goodyear HPs, still on original brakes, Mobil 1 5W30 since 10K, Intermediate steering shaft replaced at 35K, no sign of looseness since. still original Sachs rear shocks, replaced Bilsteins in front with Monroes. No oil usage to speak of between 5K changes, always use Delco PF59 filter. Replace rear axle oil with Mobil 1 75/90 every 30K, as well as fuel filter. New OEM air filter every 30K also. No squeaks, rattles or creaks, yet. Going for 200K. Can buy a lot of gas with no car payment...

Ever since 1997, I had been searching for a full size truck (at the time I owned an S10), Silverado, Ram. . . (no I didn't consider the Ford trash), neither of these grabbed my interest enough to justify a purchase.  When the Av came out, I immediately liked the new look.  I purchased my first Avalanche in Nov 2001.

After 95,000 miles, I just traded it in for an '06 on Feb 10th (nearly identical Z71).  Some things '02 is better, others '06 is better.  Overall '06 is a better vehicle.
 
I still have my 02 baby - Bought January 02, It is the best truck I have ever had, she has 48000 miles now. 
 
I still have my 02, just turned over 50,000. I need to get another one so my wife will stay out of mine.
 
Got our in Feb '02 and have loved every mile we put on it.

Not sure how many miles are on it, as I don't drive it that often.
I would guess it is around 50k miles on it now.

Love the cladding, so no plans on getting rid of it anytime soon.
Would only trade or sell for a new AV anyway.

Maybe in '08 GM will come to their senses and offer the cladding again.

Hello all,
I purchased my 02 new in May 02 and I now have 112K miles. No issues. Original pads and shocks.
Mobil 1 and Amsoil synthetic fluids.

have had 13 trucks, used to trade every 10-12 months (silverados, sierras, rams).?
93000 miles, mobil1 every 3k, no real interest to trade.?
every year after '02 GM decided to take something off instead of add on.?

only faults:
1. too few add-ons for '02s
2. HU changed out
2. BIGGEST-bed still leaks at tailgate where it meets #3 panel, did when I got it,
did after dealer adjusted everything, did after i added weatherstrip to tailgate,
but you know what, looked at an '06 this weekend, IT WAS LEAKING IN THE SAME PLACE,? so why trade??????????

only regret:
bought z66 instead of z71

If I got more checks in the mail than bills, and gas were .99/gallon, I might would trade for this:
