How Many Avalanche 2500 are here Now, Today?

I have three Avalanche 2500's. 2002 Pewter, 2003 Black, and a 2004 Red. I'd like to upload some pics, but it keeps stopping my files are too big. I reduced them, but can't seem to get them small enough to upload. I'm done messing with it.

Put them in the album.

For now they will need to be approved until you have more posts...

2002 2500 still going. Just did rebuild of transfer case. Plastic bearing cap came off and made click noise at slow speed.

Just picked up my dream avay Last Saturday for $8500 with 144k miles. I am selling my 2002 chevy 1500 z71 now that I have had forever since 2005  :needhug:  but the 2005 has always been something Ive wanted. I mean bigger, better and so much louder lol.  I will be doing the underbody and getting rid of some rust etc, needs a new bumper which has seemed impossible to find.

But all things said the last owner made some changes that I dont have to do:  Airbag suspension in the back, custom front suspension in the front, custom cooler, navigation system and backup camera, some odd custom cluster, brand new tires and a pull out utility bed(something like that I suppose), the airbags Im still curious on, wasnt aware you could do that.

Great truck and looking forward to pulling our 4k pound trailer with it with the family lol :welcome:

also....im guessing the last owner wanted a louder sounding truck but he cut off the exhaust pipe after the muffler??? any reasons why that would be

edit: forgot to mention, now my kids have named our new truck :  AVA 2.0

Welcome to the 2500 club, Rtparks3!!  :B:
I have had a few troubles with my 2500, but nothing unsolvable.
(except for the 'Security' light that has been staring at me since the summer of 2016...lol)
Overall, I'm very happy with it. You'll be as well - it's leaps and bounds better than the 1500 - although that's just my humble opinion  >:D

Congrats and welcome to the 2500 club.

The 2500 is awesome to have.  I can understand your frustration with rust

awesome price btw (y)

Congrats Sykkboy68 good thing is they still make aftermarket patch panels for the most common problem areas for the claddded AV.

This is my first Avalanche bought on 7/2/2020. It's a 03 model 2500 with 37658 original miles. I've added 20x10 with 33x12.50 and flowmaster exhaust. A lot more mods coming.

Any updates the this list?
I didn't see this before.
I am still around 02 2500

Last time i posted on this thread was 2015. I still have my 2500. She is just not my main ride anymore. She is a garage queen now.

I too am still here, same on the garage queen, hauls my RC Planes and driving vacations only now.

Still here also.. Moved a little farther North but still have my 2500 and like others have said, the 2500 is the best AV IMHO. Driving a lot less lately with what's going on there in the world but with 276,000 miles she still runs great..

I think I told Randy about my story with mine. I towed the 34 foot AS through the mountains of Tennesse and it didn't like it. So a 16 GMC 3500 oiler handles that now adays.

Yea, towing that triple axel AS is a lot to ask of any gas motor without some internal upgrades Mr. Byron....

I pulled a few pretty good loads over the Sierra Nevada mountain range when we moved to Nevada, mostly at night to avoid traffic and when it was cold so as to keep the temps down. I wouldn't want to put it through that to often, especially with 276,000 miles on the odometer...

Or at least an Allison Transmission LOL

After I got back to Michigan I did find out that there is another filter in it, Pressure Control (EPC) Solenoid Filter .

So Tranny guru took off the valve body and cleaned it up and replaced all the solenoids reset the adaptive feature and off I went so far so good.

4L80 a good trans but really needs another gear or two.. Was your trans acting up?

No my 4l85e did not have a problem until I got to Florida, it didn't start popping out of gear randomly until after I did that tow.

I did it at night also but I had to watch the weather for fog, they don't call them the smoky mountains for nothing.

It was strange when I was slowing down for a off ramp from the freeway it would pop out and would not catch until I gave it some gas
