how much did you pay for your Av

Picked up my '02 with 86K on it, loaded including leather and sunroof, no rust and a one owner....$10K at a chevy dealership. Like others here after looking and many high mileage ones in 'ok' shape from $6-8......10 didn't seem like a bad deal. It's going to be our third veh and used for long trip's and towing a <5K lb camper so I wanted something that had been taken care of and not beat.

Just got my 2004 Z71 for $4200 CDN.

Fully loaded and both the interior and exterior are in near mint condition. Rust free. 317 000 kms on it but brand new transmission and transfer case. Engine runs amazing. Even got a bed tent thrown in for free

Couldn't be happier with the deal I got, looked at a few others around the same price point and it was all rusty junk.

03' Victory Red, Z71 loaded minus Nav, WHB, 116,000 mi, $6k. The prices in Seattle are ridiculous. Maybe it's the northwest in general. I was shopping for 2 weeks and there are a lot of high mileage machines going for $6k to $8k private party. Low mileage vehicles are commanding $10k to $14k. It's nice to see people hanging on to these and using them but there are also a lot of high mileage frogs to choose from as well. I was looking for something under 120k miles, good condition and not silver or black or cladded.  I searched locally, in Texas, California and Nevada. Finally found one in Idaho for $7k. I would consider it good condition needing cosmetic repairs only besides the BCM to bring it to excellent condition. Not a drip underneath or any sign there ever was which blew me away. Both passenger doors were rattle canned, poorly I might add, and this obviously spent much time on gravel roads due to the chips in the rockers and hood. I'm contemplating my repair plan right now. Do I go full respray are spot repairs? I ordered new wheels and a lift so I might do a quick turn around, list it for an ungodly amount and see what happens. Low mile trucks are commanding big money up here.

Not exactly clear on the reasons you bought an AV 1BadM6? You seemed to put a lot of time and effort into finding "just the right AV for you" then you immediately talk of selling it???
If it was me I would decide whether to sell or keep it, if my decision was to sell I would put as little money in it as possible (forget new wheels and lift) since most times you only get pennies on the dollar for any mods or accessories to a vehicle. Let the "new owner" spend his money and time making the AV his own. Selling it on the idea as it is a blank canvas that he can customize.
A good paint shop may be able to spot finish the AV to get it looking new but you also need to consider that all the original red paint is 15 years old and may be hard to match.
On the other hand there are many higher mileage AVs on this website to prove you probably have many more miles of life left in your Av and if you spend some time doing preventative maintenance and upkeep you will have a vehicle that is truly yours and spend way less money compared to a new truck.
Good luck with your decisions.......

My very first avalanche is my current avalanche baught it 11.22.2018 i'm the 3rd or 4th owner its a 2002 Z71 and it came with an aftermarket intake and exaust with an engine tune on it and i only payed $3,100
and it has 251,000km on it just in the last few weeks from being with friends and going back and forth to work i have put 2,000 km on it and already wanting to replace some warn out steering parts and add a steering stabilizer along with a 3-inch lift

Bought an 02 Z71 with 178,000 miles on it for $1700. Pretty well loaded but the body is banged up a little. Came with a plow on it that was used in a cemetery. Sold the plow for $1200.

:welcome: to the club, doesn't that mean you paid 500.00 for the AV. Sounds like a smart buy to me.

Yeah pretty much but if you want to be really technical I sold my 1998 K2500 at the same time. Bought it for $1200 and sold it for $1800. So basically I got a free Avalanche and $100 bill on top of it.  :D

Excellent Gas money, that should get ya a tank full. For a moment i thought you would post I bought a plow and a Avalanche was attached to it.  >:D

My first Avalanche- Onyx Black- Z66 pkg, leather, new tires, battery, rear brakes and calipers,  142K miles- $4800 from the executor of her father's estate. The paint still shines like a 3 year old car.
I feel like I got a good deal. Her father was a mechanic and it was well maintained, I am retired and don't drive a lot of miles now- I only drove my 2009 HHR 40,000 miles in 5 years. -
added- after 3 months, I sold it for $5500- I bought a 2005 Honda Element for $2600-

2004 Z71, little tiny rust stain on the back bumper, 100K miles, $6200. I put $1500 in new brakes all around, and I'll be dropping another $1,000 on BS engine stuff, then the last $1000 will be sound and video system.

$20,000 dollars,  purchased November 2016.  It?s a single owner 2005, 8.1 2500, leather, 4wd, dvd, heated seats, adjustable pedals,, sunroof, 3.73, satellite radio, on star... basically option  except roof rack.  Oh, and it only had 30k miles.

$3,500 including taxes and registration for a 2002 1500 Z71, roughly 200k miles, no special options.  Everything worked except the radio, which was scratchy, and mirror defrost.  Came with new Yokohama tires.  If you have read my posts, you know I had a batch of problems in my first year.  The underside is rusty but from looking at it at a distance, it still looks pretty new.  I have about $2k in repairs so far, and probably another $2k next year to really get it back to new stock condition.... maybe more depending on how crazy I go with the rusty rocker panels.

We picked up my wife's 2002 Z71 for $1500 from a coworker of mine. It had about 120k miles on it. When my son heard that I now wanted an Avalanche  for myself, he found a 2003 Z66 for sale for $3300 with about 140k miles on it.

I paid $7500 for my '02 Avalanche 2500/'05 Escalade reconstruct. It's not for everyone, but that's roughly the price of parts alone for the Fabtech lift and other performance mods it came with. So I see it as basically having bought the parts and gotten the truck and labor for free.

I bought my Black 2003 1500 in Fall of 2006 for $20000 with 33000 miles.  Will be selling soon for around $5000 with 90,000 miles.  Time to upgrade to a newer truck.

We bought our orange 2002 North Face 4x4 with 65,000 miles at Bobby Rahal Toyota in Pennsylvania in February/March of 2013 for $11,800.  We're at 87,000 now--truck mostly just sits in the garage and looks pretty.

I pick up on Saturday my White 2003 Z71 Avy w/ last reported 190,000 miles, has a dash pod showing 86,000. Leather heated seats,2 position memory seats, moveable pedals, auto adjust reverse mirrors, dual auto climate control, After market radio. This is in WNY and 98 % rust free body! It still had the bilsteins on it. It needed front shocks changed and all new brakes and wheel bearings done (by dealer).
$4,200.00

I purchased my lovely 2003 Z71 1500 for a mind blowing 1200.00 with 192k on the OD of course its got some body issues and the guy said it had a new tranny and a new motor.. though i think he was a bit confused when he said it was a 4 bolt main Vette motor.  I am pretty sure i dont have a 6.0L under the hood.. he was the owners father..  so i took it with a grain of salt... only one door speaker works, besides the woofer.. with an aftermarket radio that has a flip up screen.. but doesnt light up.. and its missing the thing in the middle that takes up the space when the midgate is down.. anyone know where i can get one? or what its called?  lol

if you look at page 5 top photo.. there is a space between the truck bed and the midgate in the down position.. looks like a hinged piece of metal that transitions from the bed to the bottom of the midgate to cover over the seal and the spave where the hinges are for the midgate.. mine is missing ..

If I am understanding correctly, that part is made of plastic.

could be plastic .. i dont have one so i cant comment.. lol so what do you think its called though?  i would probably call it a transition panel? i could make one out of wood or something else but i want to bring the truck back as much as possible... my local wrecking yard doesnt have an avalanche right now.. :(
