how much did you pay for your Av

2013 LTZ, Black Diamond 133k for $20,000 Bought it from the original owner. Not sure where to begin the assessment phase and then onto needs and wants!! Excited!! The bones appear to be good, body needs help and would love more power and sound!! Let's rumble!!

2003 z71 black 88k miles for $10,500. It’s in pretty good condition with some rust on the rear fender. What do you do about the rust issues?
I'd argue that if you're seeing rust poking though the body, then id be pretty suspicious of paying $10.5k. It's not usually the powertrain that gives out on these, it's the body.

I'd have a super hard look at the rest of the body, realize that anything covered by plastic cladding likely has rust underneath it. Check the rockers and poke at them with a screwdriver where they look rusty. Poke all over the place for that matter, look for parts that dont look structurally sound, or better yet have it fully inspected. The used car market is too expensive to be doing gambles on. If you're going to gamble, gamble low. Realize that if there's that much rust, a lot of parts, such as the brake lines and sending units will be concerns. If ALL of the brake lines arent brand new front to back, expect it to cost you $1500 at some point.

Go though everything, figure out the cost, or ask back here for a guess, then get them to sell it to yoou at a reasonable cost based on that. Remember, there is ALWAYS more damage than you think there is. If they cant provide a great service history, assume that it's never been maintained. That's usually a safe bet.

I had the same problem with No Power, I changed the fuel filter, checked the fuel pressure and had the catalytic converter tested for flow, all was fine, I recently replaced the accelerator pedal assembly and put a new wiper assembly on the throttle body and now it has a lot more power than it did, I have 242k miles on it and it runs perfect, I was averaging 12.5 mpg and now it's 15.6 mpg average. I was also having shifting problems with the transmission that was corrected when I changed the throttle and wiper assemblies. I have a 2010, LTZ.

Bought my 2007 LTZ a few months ago. 220,000 Miles $5

Bought my 2007 LTZ a few months ago. 220,000 Miles $5100
That's a good price, you can't even buy a stripped down pickup for that price, I was originally looking for a pickup truck and I came across my 2010 Avy and I fell in love with it, I wanted luxuries and the LTZ had every option available except for the electric running boards, I paid $10.500.00 with 170k miles about 3 years ago and now it has 242k and purrs like a kitten. I'm starting to get a little rust on the rear quarter panels right behind the doors but it won't be hard to fix.

Yea I was originally looking for a 4 door pickup for a backup vehicle and for hauling my kids GoKart to the track a couple times a month. But this was a better deal.. Truck market is stupid right now

Holy CRAP! what would a RH drive go for before conversion?

PS welcome Crusty!

We have had soem members from Australia but I am pretty sure you are the first to admit being from New Zealand..

I gotta get there one day... looks great and have everything from Mountains to beaches...

In New Zealand I just paid US $35,000 for an 03 4wd Avalanche! We can't import them unless they are converted to right hand drive & I don't think anyone is doing conversions anymore!

Looking forward to pictures of the conversion.

Just bought a 2004 in good shape with 94,000 on it for $4k I thought it was a killer deal, about to put all new suspension in it. Fuel gage doesn’t read on dash. And previous owner cut a hole in the roof and put a sunroof in 🤣 no leaks so far.. brake lines have been replaced. I’ll be lurking around to see what I should be expecting to fix, in between mods im about to do

Hey 04avvy welcome. she looks like my '04. Just bought in April ($8k btw) and have had to fix a few things on her. Running great now but mostly stock so plenty to mod.
Let us know how it goes.

Bought my 2013 Black Diamond LT last month (October 2020) for $27k. (No sun roof which is a bummer.)

49k miles. Minor repairs needed which I've paid about $250+ for so far.

Got from a used car dealership, but it's only had one owner. Clearly has lived a life even at 49k - minor body/paint issues that I'm planning to take care of except for one rear quarter panel where someone did a s****y job of repainting it. Ugh. The interior is super clean.

Always wanted a big black truck, and my best friend has a 2010 black LTZ. Planning on getting black bow ties for front and back. Possibly pipes too.

(Current issue: the stupid tailgate falls open. I've read up on it and will work on that.)
Just found an 02 in a Cornfield with 77000 on it paid a grand.... motor, Trans, and interior are mint, everything else rustoriffic by with rock auto and About 1500 bucks it is my dream truck and a tank.... the unravelanche is born

Bought a 2002 white NFE with very few issues. It was listed for 5k. I live in hawaii and trucks go for a premium here. We agreed that the seller could use the truck for a month as he got ready to leave the island. over the month we texted a bit. The registration was going to be expired by the time i picked it up. Ho the seller said he would take off 100 from the price. I laughed. But responded "thank you" since I felt like I was already getting a good deal.

Well I picked up the truck on Thursday and went to pay the 5k and then was going to take 100 back and he said, No, the price was 4500. Lol so he made a typo when saying he'd take off the 100. and meant to say he'd take off 500!

So I bought an '02 NFE for 4500 in very good condition! I'm still pretty blown away. I had figured that throughout the month, he would have found out he could sell it for a lot more and change his mind on selling it for 5k. Never thought another 500 would be knocked off.

Too Damn much! Bought my 2006 Z51 for almost 10.5k. Bought it at the height of the used car market last winter, and before gas went through the roof. Zero rust, zero dents, nearly no body flaws. Engine is silky smooth, interior near perfect. Came with brand new tires. I have developed a transmission issue, I think. Needs investigating. Still, i love the truck. Working through some minor issues here and there, which also makes it fun.
