Welcome Goo ....

The first step to recovery is Acknowledgement that you have a problem. Now that you have accepted that you in fact do have a problem with Modding you can now begin the slow process of Rehabilitation.

If you would like to skip the slow process of rehabilitation, you may participate in the XRover 24 hr clean and broke program.

You have 24 hours to send me just 1 month of your modding budget. In Cash of course.

If you feel the urge to Mod again, I will still be here for you... with a stamp and a self addressed envelope.

Are you ready begin rehab Goo ?

XRover,

Like it was so well put in another thread ... Rehab is for quiters ;D

G,

Time to raise that bar. I have been busy this week.

Hey, Fathers day is coming and then there is the 4th of July >:D

>:DJust ordered a K&N FIPK ($276.18 shipped)>:D
Currently looking for someone to paint my cladding.
Ordered decals for the emblems on the sides for after I get it painted. Anyone have any luck painting the textured cladding?

Brado...there are several members who have painted the cladding on their Av's...I'm no expert on this matter but I'm assuming they will have to sand the texture down to a nice smooth surface before they go ahead and paint......wind4power has the blue painted Av...you might want to shoot him an email to inquire further... :B:

Thanks, I will try asking him...
Another question..Like I said in my previous post, I have ordered a K&N FIPK. I've noticed others with the same w/Flowmaster mufflers. Does the muffler improve the performance considerably or is it just louder?

The flowmaster will increase the Hp....being that your letting your engine get rid of those exhaust gases with less effort......so it will run more effeciently....so noise isn't your only benefit... ;D

Opening up the exhaust will yield the most power when a similar change has been made to the intake side. It also tends to move the power band higher in the rpm range. Think of a gas engine as a pump. Intake and exhaust needs to be balanced for any benefits to be had. Displacement, maximum rpm, compression ratio and valve size and timing all affect how much CFM an engine needs and then must evacuate.

Horsepower is measured at three places:

At the flywheel
At the wheels and
At the brochure

One thing is for sure, though. The Avalanche ?
sounds way stronger
with a muffler change! Go for it!

Awight, you twisted my arm. (y)
But I will wait until my bills catch up from the paint job I'm looking to have done.

It will be sharp when it's finished, and hopefully perform as well. Now if I could just get the leak at the midgate fixed. :cautious:

Brado..if you really want to upgrade your exhaust....just throw in some headers along with your muffler mod...you will definitely feel an increase in Hp.....

Gibson, JBA, etc make some pretty good headers....I would look into it.... :B:

Haven't spent anything yet but do plan on adding a brush guard and a new exhaust system. I want to purchase the Corsa system for my Avalanche to match the sweet sound of my Y2K C5... As far as the brush guard is concerned, I am not sure if I like the one sold by Chevrolet. I would like to see it first. The problem I have is the front license plate. I haven't seen any pictures yet as to where you mount the plate.

Shockwave, the front license plate bracket mounts on the lower portion of the guard's cladding beneath the space under the Avalanche wording.

irontrain you seem to be on a roll....modding always seems to put a smile on my face....anything to add that unique look to my rig.....happy customizations!! :B:

I think the question should now have the words "this week" added to the end!

We still have a ways to go, less than 10% have fessed up - not bad results to date. ;D

Maybe some fellas have the fear their wives will access this board and do them in....wouldn't be a pretty site for some....me included... :B:

Ha, Ha..., NJAV......., bet Your Right.., ill bet Your Wife is trying to figure out why Your not coming to Bed at night lately..., lol.., well if She does find out.., You can always say....., well Honey.., Better the Avalanche site.., than another Woman... I think that will work.., then again..., Women can get just as Jealous at Cars, Trucks, and other Toys.... No more comments from Me on this one.., lol.....

Have done the K&N air intake, high flow exhaust. did wonders for smooth pick up. Did a drop kit, love the look. Painted about 80% of the cladding to match the black upper body. Left inner area of front bummper gray, area above running boards and back bumper.

When I can afford it, tires and wheels are next, followed by super charger

Sparky, do you have some pictures?

Yes. ?Pictures and more info on the drop kit. I need to see what a black AV looks like with painted cladding. Yes, we need to raise the bar gandolphxx ;D
