How much improvement in 5.3 w/PCM tune?

How much of an improvement is there with a good PCM tune in the Av 5.3 engine?

I am interested in the Z71 however, I have found the stock 5.3 engine to be somewhat lacking in performance. I do not plan to tow much but want an engine with better performance in acceleration, etc. Please let me know if I can make the 5.3 a snappy performer with a PCM tune and exhaust or do I need to go with the 6.0 in the LT?

I have a Hypertech PPIII and it will help considerably...  From what I've read and heard, all of the programmers equal out about the same... I liked Hypertech's reputation and history, which is why I went with their unit...

Before Tune numbers: Max Power 209.06  Max Torque 247.43
After Tune numbers: Max Power 238.64  Max Torque 278.22

Shift points are much better and theres a lot more pep off the line.
Torque management is gone and speed limiter set much higher.

Where are you located?  I'm not a fan of mail-order tunes.  I'm more of a fan of a local tuner that knows what they're doing.

Yeah, ask for Allen Nelson's phone number...He will send you a mail order tune tighter than most local tuners....
