If I have the 105 amp alternator (stock I believe), how much extra light (wattage) can I add before I should be looking at a larger alternator?  I know I have seen some posts of guys " working the math" to answer this question. I'm looking at adding a pair of 100watt driving lights and a set of 55 watt fog lights. (keeping in mind I already have the ALL-ON-HI done, Sail panel lights, a few other LED lights and an XM radio and GPS inside.

Thanks for the help!!

no problem for what you are adding...

LED draw very little... as do XM and GPS...

but divide wattage by 14.2 volt (what alternator output is at) to get amp draw...

so your 310 watt is 21.8 amp round it up to be safe call it 22 amp...

If you have big stereo amp and listen loud... then ya may consider...

Mine is an 03, and the dealer just replaced it about 3 months ago.  So it is a 105. (if I had been thinking when they replaced it I could have had them put in a larger one and pay the difference.

I'll tell my story I have a 03 I did the silverstars 55 watt updated the Bose just to the Lux system then I notice the lights were dim at night not the bright white. I upgraded to the 145 amp and no more problems. I also have a few more electrical mods but nothing major like external amps.

It's also stamped in the casing
