YUK!

Cabin fever!

Sounds like my tour in Maine!!

I'm saving up now for my flights I may have to get out of NY sometime in February/ March at least for weekend just have to see what GTG's come up.

Sorry guys? :jacked: Their fault? :beating:?? ?>:D

Well the jumper didn't work out as planned, went to start the truck this morning and the battery was dead, just got done changing it.

Man, I should really start selling these kits on Ebay!  (Considering that the FT Fogs is a 1 diode kit!)  Let's see - my cost $0.20; selling price $20.00 = $19.80 gross profit!  Hey, that's sounding pretty good!

Linky Thingy Here.

Chavey,

I need some help, I tried to remove the headlight assembly on my wife's 07, bot it didn't seem to want to come out and I didn't want to force
it and end up having to buy a new one for a truck we have only had for 3 weeks, so can you please tell me how to get at the DRL's
so I can amber up.

thank you

Andie,

Read this thread on Headlight Removal: 07 Headlight removal instructions with pics

I was never actually able to get the headlights completely out.  I just got them all loose then moved my hand around enough to pull out the bulbs and replace with ambers.  Tight, but I got them in.

I did this to my car.
Looks very nice.
I think I'm the first one in Kuwait to do this with +2007 model.
I buy the Orange bulbs for 3.33$.
I will post picture later today or tomorrow.

That's night photos.
Is this good.

SWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Job!  Told everyone, not that hard at all!

(Even did WildWil's 2005 AV this past weekend using Vertabatts instructions!)

How'd you get nighttime photos?  It's still daylight here!

The hard thing is to change the bulb to orange.
But i haven't do this my self i get the pics with me and some one did it because i don't have wiring tools.
I'm in Kuwait i don't think there's members here.
It's still night.
For the pics i have a camera that can did this with little editing from my laptop.
Check this pics http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php/topic,95956.0.html
I really love it.
Thanks man.

Quick questions...has anyone had any trouble with the diode and wires getting too and burning or melting something in the fuse box?

I made the jumper and when I tested it I was surprised at how hot the diode got to the touch.  Hot enough that I couldn't keep my finger on it.

I am concerned about burning/melting something on a long drive.

Thanks

Had mine on for about 9 months now.  I even checked them about a month ago too because they had wiggled loose.  They may get warm, but not burn out.  That's the reason for the 3amp diode - big enough to handle the juice but small enough that if anything did go wrong, it would burn out first (killing the circuit) - even before the fuse.

When I first played with this, I used a smaller diode - it burnt up real good real fast.  Not fun seeing a big plume of smoke coming from the fuse panel!  You can even see the burn mark in one of the original photos.

Kip, No issues that I know of. Have had mine set up since October. Have made some long drives since then as well.

Yeah, just make sure you don't use a tiny diode like the one we used for your fogs... that'll burn right up!

I think I know the answer, but will ask anyway.  What's the purpose of the diode?  Is it so that the DRL voltage does not feed back into the head lights when DRL are on and head lights are off?

Yes, the diode is an electrical "check valve" preventing the electricity from traveling backwards.  That's why it's important which direction it faces.

I may be missing something here but on my 07 you can not turn the fog lights on without the low beams coming on.  That being said, Why do you need a diode for the fog light mod?  I completely understand and agree on the diode for the full time DRL mod but I see no need for anything more than a piece of wire for the fog light mod.

Matt

Mine was the 08 so it should be the same.  Just verify the fuse numbers to what they actually are - they may be a little different.

I'm just wondering if I can use this instead of a diode? Its an ATM Pigtail Fuse.
