How to fix pull to the right?

Ive always had a moderate pull to the right when hands off the wheel. To drive straight, I have to hold the wheel about 1/2 inch turned to the left. I noticed the passenger right tire tread was chopped in irregular patterns, but they were old tires so I didn't care. I put off identifying and fixing the issue. I recently got the truck leveled and new, expensive AT tires. I got the truck aligned and was told it was "way misaligned," however the issue is still there, although a little better. I don't want to chop up these tires and want to be able to take my hands off the wheel and not start drifting right.

Any ideas? Easy fix? Hard fix?

FWIW, 2002 Z71. 144,xxx miles, everything all original. Now have new keys for the level and new 285/70/17 Toyo tires

If you bought 4 new tires at the same place you had alignment, then they really have no choice but to satisfy you.

Discuss where you notice the pull (what road) and at what speed with your alignment guy.  Be nice.  Show him.  Different roads have different crowns (raised in the center).  What if you drive in the left lane (assuming 2 lanes each way and divided highway - does crown sloping to the left change the pull?  A good alignment guy can bias the settings, still staying within the factory specs, to take care of minor pulls.  I wish everything these days would be as simple to fix as aligments!!

Good luck!  I'm sure they will take care of a good customer if you give them a chance.

have them check front suspension parts like all bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends etc.

then align again and check rear wheel alignment first

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but just figure Id update this in case anyone over the years needs help and finds my original post.

The steering became so unbearable that the truck was almost unable to be driven. The brand new tires were almost completely bald. I took the truck to a new, more expensive and reputable shop thinking the last guys didnt know how to align the vehicle. After 5 minutes on the lift they came and got me and said the camber adjustments for the alignment were not done whatsoever, both wheel assemblies, and tie rod ends were completely shot. Also had a new idler arm installed.

After $1,200 it runs perfect. Drives better than a brand new truck! so happy!

Whatever you do, DO NOT take it to pep boys! The sold me a lifetime alignment package. When I went back 6 months because it just wanted to check it (no symptoms of alignment problem) they said they couldn’t align it because the tie rod was bad and the upper control arm ball joint. Imagine my concern when it a year before I bought all Moog parts from
Them and replaced the entire front suspension/steering/idler and pitman arms all ball joints, tie rods etc.
They wouldn’t show me the parts in question when my truck was on rack. Zero help from corporate. BEWARE
